Bud question

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

most of my buds that are coming out on my seedlings(including 3 from busy bees seeds)all look the same
One plant has a bud that is long ,skinny and pointed, most of my others are fat and blunt tipped. It kinda looks like whiskers buds only thinner. Its from some of the seeds that were gotten in trade(2 or 3 years ago) ,they were marked Aurea Hybrids with a lot #.I planted them early summer of 2001,and the peacocks wiped out most of them.Could it be aurea x versi ? if so is it considered B x candida ?

I'll take a picture if it ever stops raining.....

Is it fuzzy? My versicolors are fuzzy, soft live velvet. I'll have to go feel of the candidas, but I think they are fuzzy too.

Here is a Candida bud up close. I want y'all to know I crawled in the Jungle beside my patio to get this pic. This is where I saw the snake the other day. Just wanted you to know how much I went thru to get this.

Here is a bud on Kyles Pink, I'm not sure what it's classed as, part versicolor?

Here is a bud on Versicolor Orange. It's soft and fuzzy as is Candida. Kyles Pink wasn't as fuzzy, but still had a light fuzz on the blooms that the suaveolens and others don't have.

Take some pics of your peacocks CC PLEASE.......I would love to see them.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

The peacocks have lost their tails Kell. They loose them in August,at the end of breeding season, they'll start growing back in over the winter

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

oh..........that is new to me! So that is how they get all those peacock feathers they sell? LOL I thought they plucked them out.............. ouch!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oops, I was supposed to email and ask you if you sold them. A customer wanted some for a wedding, but I think it's too late now(blushing here, I forgot all about it)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Calla ,i have tons, but they don't all have the "eye"the longest ones have no "eye"

kell, most people don't know that either, but all birds molt a time or 2 each year, otherwise the feathers would look like dodo after a year or 2

CC, email me your prices and I'll tell her when she comes back.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I should know that and my mind should have been able to synapse over from my bird to all birds................. hard to have your mind go slow after being so smart!! LOL

anyway, my parrot goes bald! So now it makes sense!
