Susie, they look really nice. Can't wait for more plants in the house for the winter. :-)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

they look so cute!!! they are all variegated EEs?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, Hilo Beauty is variegated, Amazonica has dark leaves with silver veins. Nancyana starts out all green and gets a white streak in the center(Kyle, did I get that right?) and Black Magic is the dark leaved one and Black Velvet is a dark, dark green and feels like velvet, and has lighter veins.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And these are all going to get huge? Gosh, I wish I had room! They sound beautiful!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, some aren't as big as the others, Black Velvet is smaller.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

An adult Nancyana has a creamy white sunburst in the middle of a green leaf.

They start off green. When they reach around two or two-and-a-half feet tall, white starts to appear along the central vein. A little longer, and the white extends to the center vein of the two upper arches of the ear, making a "Y" shape. Then the color expands slowly with each new ear until it is a nice, broad, symetrical sunburst, peaking at each of the major radial veins.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Oh, and a *Green* Velvet Alocasia is dark, dark green with white veins. Black Velvet is dark, dark, dark, dark green.

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Do you all keep them inside over the winter?

I am glad I didn't order too many. I kept one EE over the winter in the ground, but it hasn't grown much. It is a baby about 2" high. I don't dig my callas, c. cosmos or dahlias, and so far they seem to be OK.

I have lost all my small cannas, I don't know if the gophers ate them or they just died, but they are GONE!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Evelyn, if your plants freeze to the ground in winter, just keep the baby ees inside.

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Grandview, TX(Zone 7b)

EE= Elephant Ears

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Thanks calla!

I'll keep the one in the ground that survived last winter and the rest in the house. The one outside will probably do better but I will try to keep up with the plants inside. I haven't dug my hibiscus yet, and the deer trimmed them back nicely. I kept them in last winter, They are peach-colored for the peach-of-a-garden.

Sometimes my plants inside don't make it, but I did well with those last year.

Now I have coleus, brugs, EE's and some sweet potato vines I will try to overwinter them all. I took some lavender cuttings but I think it got too cold in the windowsill. Do they need bottom heat during the winter?

I use a regular heating pad on low covered with a towel. Has anyone ever done that before?? I have already run out of room. Thanks everyone....

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'm terrible with lavender. One of the herb people can help you. The heating pad should work, my friend uses one for her cuttings.

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

What did I miss here? Got in this late. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)
