Le Bon Jardiniere out of business?

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I understand they have some good hibiscus, but I guess they are out of business or bankrupt like so many businesses are these days, cause they cannot be found.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The website opens with www.lebonjardinier.com

The dont sell Brugmansias until further notice but apparently other plants.

I tried to get some information from them the other day....no luck:) Still hope they can solve any brug problems they have, if any, and offer them for sale again.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It doesn't seem like a business could stay afloat very long if they can't provide a product. I haven't heard of anyone getting plants from them this year. Seems to be lots of unfilled orders and unhappy customers.

Hamilton, Canada

they are probably rebuilding their stock...the brugs must have been their biggest seller...it will take them time to get back on their feet...plus didn't someone mention that they moved to cali or was that just a rumor.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

They've been re-building stock for 2 years now. Cripes - you can grow a 10 foot brug tree from seed in that length of time.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I wonder if a virus wiped them out?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I've been wondering if they hired cheap help, and that was the cause of everything being mislabled???

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

I don't think they moved to Ca.They have always had an arrangement with a grower there. She did have severe virus problems a while back.I think she may have a difficult time selling her Brugs if and when she tries selling again.Too many mislabeled and other problems to say nothing of the customer NO service.

Hmmm?????

I won`t start guessing, but just say, that have had great oppotunities to study the relation between Brug retailer/ customer and acknowledge, how fine that balance is. There have been different cases recently and I am grateful for everything learning, that can be drawn out of that. :) I have noted, a choosen few has success and that not so few have less of that and have looked at possible reasons for both and gave it plenty of thought ...

I asked our supply salesman if she was still there, he said he'd never been able to find her greenhouse. He delivers to two other nurseries in that town, and it's not a big town.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Very.... interesting!?????

From what I was told by Marjory Harris in San Francisco, the plants are propagated by Dr. Patrice Dreckman in CA. I know that Marjory supplied him with a lot of sanguinea cuttings after they had their virus problem. I know when I ordered seeds, some came from TN and the others came from CA. That was almost 2 years ago though.

Well, if you go to 'that other garden site' and check out the brug forum, there's a thread about this---I just read it today, hehe!

There is? Will have to check it out.
