U Moonbeam

(Zone 6a)

This is the first brug from seeds that bloomed for me....I named it U Moonbeam, since it is a very pale yellowish-white. Smallish size blooms, and appears it is going to be a continuous bloomer. Has just a trace of fragrance...not much. The blooms stay open all day too:) This one is about 6 ft. high now.....was a seed last winter:)

Whites are nice, but I've had more this year than ever. Planning on dumping all but two.

I know.....this one has that 'sentimental' value:) LOL
Here is a close-up of it taken a few minutes ago.

Owen - that has nice long tendrils. Your pictures are coming out great :) What did you end up getting for a camera?

(Zone 6a)

I bought a refurbished (like new) Olympus C-2100UZ. I am beginning to think of it more as a computer than as a camera:) It has more options and controls one can use than I ever imagined:) Right now, I am just using the autofocus and default settings. The 10x optical zoom is fantastic too!

The brug pics are showing true colors....taking them in morning and evening light usually, or during the day when no direct sunlight is on the object.

Shirley....which two white brugs are you keeping? Tragedy and which other?

I have a hard time in direct sunlight with my camera too.

Owen - that is a great photo of you "sentimental" one.

Pretty Owen and the sentimental ones are always special. So glad that you are enjoying your new camera and it looks like you are having fun with it. Enjoy your pictures.

Owen, Moonbeam is very beautiful. I love both the shape and tendrils. Is it x candida hybrid? Is it the same type on the left in your first picture?

(Zone 6a)

Tonny....the close-up pic is just a freshly opened one (day old) on the same brug as the first pic. Don't know what the parents are:)

thats so pretty Owen,I'm a sucker for the ones with loooonnnngggg tendrils

(Zone 6a)

Thanks everyone.....It is not the most colorful brug in the world, but it does seem to bloom continuously, does not wilt during the daytime and has at least a hint of nice fragrance. Would like to pollinate it with a nice pink brug next summer....my EP is turning me off with it's habit of wilting during the daytime:) Hope there are some nice pink ones that don't have that habit:)

I'm keeping Pristine, Owen. Just such a pure white with long tendrils. Probably by spring, I'll have more whites, but just had to downsize this fall.

Owen... you did good nice brug and the rest of your brugs look good too

(Zone 6a)

Shirley, did you post a pic of Pristine? Would love to see it. How is it's blooming habit, fragrance, etc.?

There is a picture of Pristine on this page....

Blooming habit.........Tall, straight, good umbrella but not the strongest fragrance of those I grow.
