very pretty Ma Vie!

(Zone 6a)

Looks almost silky.....great!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Kell :). it is lovely.

Owen... it has that silky characteristic when bloom is opened. the flower closes due to warm weather in the daytime in this area. fragrance is mild. but i do like the silky looked it has and the green veins around the corolla. color is very pale, almost white with hints of pink along the skirt.

i wished digital cameras would show true colors.

hon, I never had suaveolens pink. :)

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

wherever it came from, it sure is lovely and is now in bloom. oh no, don't tell me i have anothe unidentified brug here :(! that being the case, can someone pls identify this for me????

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

LOL!! I guess I did have it, huh?? got that from Eric. I can't tell if I passed it on with the right name or not though, sorry.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

no problem here :)!

my only problem is to get the right identity of each brug i have at hand. i do not want to add to the confusion and frustration of others.

i am very Greatful everyone on the brug forum has given me the opportunity to grow and learn about brugmansias. a totally new experience for me. Thanks You!!!!

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

hey, you! i don't have that one either!! you holding out on me, ma vie? hehehe!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Nuts LOL! am not holding off on u, most of the cuttings i got earlier this spring was all mislabeled. i had to wait till they bloom to find out what their real identity is.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

hehehe...well, have i told you that i may have gotten those cuttings mixed up? the ones i sent you? i'm not sure they're what i said they are...haha...i guess you'll have to wait til it blooms, then tell me which one you're missing? i have a mystery brug too. it's the deformed one. i can't wait to see how it opens up to be. i know it can only be either pink or yellow, cuz before dgs, that's all jim and i ever heard of!! kinda like the 3 kinds of cannas story...yellow, orange and red. see i am learning something, ma vie!!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

sorry to say, neither one made it :(.

i was lurking on the photo forum of the pix u posted. if not mistaken ur yellow one might been a Charles Grimaldi or Jamaican yellow. am not too sure, just like u, am learning too.

i am beginning to get the learn how to grow those cuttings, after printing and reading and re-reading those url's i sent u. so far, so good. the latest cuttings i planted are beginning to show new life into them. hey, don't feel bad, am also into the learning process here. i've never grown brugs before. with lots of patience, am slowly learning too!

i'm so scared something will happen to the ones brugie just sent. the ones i got from cala were seedlings, and they're doing great...taking forever to grow one centimeter taller, but they're healthy. cuttings make me nervous...especially when i only have one of a kind to grow...grow it or loose it forever...the stress!! haha!!

i don't think i posted pics of the ones i have, cuz i don't believe i knew how to use my camera back then, and getting the kids to take pics of my flowers is impossible!! then the really bad floods and winds came, and tore them up, broke a bunch of branches, filled with flower pods, of course, then i started growing like mad, and made my bed look lop-sided, so i cut them back, probably slowing down the third flowering until now. lost only two branches in the last storm.

i will send you rooted cuttings next time...i think i know how now, at least i have been somewhat successful, about 40 percent, anyways. i can't wait to try that horizontal method!! that's totally cool!! my yellow one is a rich yellow with a strong citrus fragrance, and my pink one is a very soft pink, with an equally soft, kind of sweet citrus scent, if that makes any sense. my new one from jim, with the deformed flower pods, is supposed to be yellow, but might be pink cuz he got them mixed up too...i guess i'm not the only one who does that!! hahaha!!

i'm gonna have pictures for you very shortly, though, cuz all three trees are about to bloom any day now!!!! yippie!!!

oh, by the way, ma vie, are peach trees supposed to be blossoming now? my peach tree is blooming, and my plum tree bloomed about a month ago...am i confused, or are my trees? hmmm...maybe both?

i guess ur plants are as confused as u are LOL! do not fret though, this year is a weird growing year. some of my plants around here are also confused LOL! the ginger plants seemed to have gone dormant during the summer time, now they are just beginning to grow nicely. am worried though cause there is a great change in temperature lately. daytime is the upper 60's, while night time has been in the lower 40's.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

we've been ranging from upper 60's to lower 90's...it's always like that this time of year here. i leave wearing a sweater and come home sweating like a pig!
