Sept. 24

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

G'morning folks. This a.m. we wake up to good news and bad news. Our Gov. has already claimed a "State of Emergency" for us. The bad news is that it looks like we are going to get Isidore. The good news is that it might only be a catagory 1 storm. But it still will bring on lots of rain and flooding. Today I'll have to pick up things in the yard and tie down more stuff. I also have to round up all the critters and make sure they are safe and comfty for the next couple of days. Jesse bought lots of plywood yesterday to board up the house. This is the expected path:http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics/AT10/AL1002W.GIF If it makes landfall near Redrose's home town that would not be so good for us. If it swings over more and hits towards New Orleans, that would be better. That would put us on the 'good' side of the storm. However, one of the local guys are saying he thinks it will skirt off to Mobile, ALa. So I guess it is anybodies at this point. Regardless, we can't take any chances. I'm off to buy water, batteries and charcoal for the bbq pit. Also lots of critter food!LOL.
This morning it is cloudy and windy. We are already getting feeder bands of rain from the storm.
Well, I must be off and going, I have lots to do today, Yall have a great day! Lisa
