Just had to post this picture. It will be the last Butterfly bloom that I'll see here until next year. It is so sad to see them all coming to their end. The winds today really hurt Pink Beauty and I had several pots blow over, but only Golfito had broken limbs. Hopefully tomorrow will be a calm day.
Last Butterfly of the Season
Great pic..I love the shape on these hybrids..I'm like Eric I love that aurea influence.. :-)
great picture!!! I love this flower
brugie, how sad. you have some real beauties, too bad you can't keep some of them going.
Arlene, you have no idea how badly I'd like to have a year round working greenhouse. I just don't think heating one in our winters would be worthwhile. I'm getting lighting put up in the basement to hold the plants over for next year. At least I might be able to look out the upstairs windows this winter.
I love this brug too and Arlene is responsible for me having one. Thanks again my friend.
Butterfly is gorgeous....and near the top of my want list...hint hint:)
I went to take some cuttings today, but there is a bud on every little shoot. I'll have some this fall, after it quits blooming.
Shirley, Know how you feel. I've got so many buds on ALL the Brugs now and won't be able to see them bloom. The end of week is supposed to go down into the 30's.
This is a beauty to be sure! It has been in the forties here at night hoping for one more warm spell..
Tracey, I think we will have another warm spell in the midwest, but it won't last long enough for us to have the brugs bloom again. What a shame........my EP is getting lots of little buds right now. I only saw her bloom one time this summer and that was when it was so hot and she wasn't very nice to look at. Then I dug her up and she resented it.
Tracey, where is Matthews located? I've never heard of it. If it isn't too far from here, you should come up for a visit.
I am about 2 hours south of St. Louis, have you heard of Cape Girardeau or Sikeston? I am real close to both of these. Where are you close to?
Shoot, you are a long way from me. I live south of DesMoines about 50 miles.
I know where Cape Girardeau is. Went through there back in the seventies when there was nothing but ice on the roads. Horrible trip.
If you ever feel like a road trip, come on up.
Hey, you never know. It seems as though we are right on that line between snow and ice. We get alot of ice and just a little snow. We moved here in 79 from Biloxi, the worst snowstorm in years power lines down for a week. Now for somebody who had only seen snow one time, it was quite rude.
I'll bet that was a shock. Iowa is already preparing for frost tonight. The northern half of the state can be affected. So, I guess I'm going to have to get serious about bring the plants inside.
OH no, good luck, I hope you can get everything in. We are goiing to get busy this weekend getting our new little home ready.
Oh it is a beauty!
WaterlooLily, did you get my email? If not, would you email me so I can contact you direct.
brugie are you going to take cuttings from this one? I would certainly love a couple of them...
Joyce, this one as a lot of seed pods on it, so I'm not going to be taking any cuttings from it this year. It is a pretty small plant anyway.
np brugie :-)
