Good morning all! It's an absolutely beautiful morning out. It was a busy weekend again. On Saturday a.m., dd had to take a test in Seward which is about 45 minute drive from here. She was nervous about test and finding test center so she wanted me to go with her. I didn't get home until 2:00. I did a few things and then dh and I left for Omaha for a reunion of his first National Guard Unit. The unit was disbanded about 10 years ago. It was fun listening to these guys reminisce and look at the pictures. Couldn't believe how long the hair was on some of them but as dh commented, in the mid 70's which was post Vietnam, and with the anti-military sentiment at the time, they were lucky to get anyone in the Guard. So they didn't make an issue about hair. Anyway, dh drank one beer and then decided he'd better not drive and so I drove home. The older I get the worse my eye perception is at night and I-80 was having some work done on it and I was having a hard time seeing where lanes end and start. I was really thankful to get out of Omaha.

We had our 4th cutting of hay baled in round bales on Saturday afternoon, finally. I commented last week about our low corn yields. However, with the nice August rains, we had a nice 4th cutting of hay. DH & dd picked up the hay yesterday a.m. and stacked it.

After church, I did some cleaning. My family decided to take dh and myself out for dinner for our 25th anniversary. My sister and her family from Iowa dropped in for awhile. You might recall my nephew who got himself into trouble earlier this year. He had a very nice girlfriend who has an adorable little girl. I am hoping and praying that she has a good influence on him. However, he does go to court in October and I am afraid with his previous record, that he will end up in prison again.

Anyway, the whole family (19 of us) that lives close went to Ruby Tuesdays. They set us up in a special room and the food was great. My sister brought down a decorated cake and they gave us a Sears gift certificate. (I still can't believe it's been 25 years.)

Ruth - I was catching up on previous posts and was laughing about your husband and racoon story. Dang racoons! Dh came to the house last week grumbling! The racoons had been crawling over our silage pile and tore holes in the cover. He took some duct tape and did some patching and then put electric fence around the pile. We've also had fox citings again.

Lisa - I hope the hurricane misses you and I too bet that your aching hands are due for a break. Dh does the majority of the goat milking here and his hands bother him too. That is why we started training the lambs to suck directly off the goat.

Well I've rambled enough - hope everyone has a good day.
