P.Foetida that took over!!

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Here is P. Foetida that I got a cutting of back in Mar from Cala. I think take over is a weak discription of it. I just wish those buds would open all at once instead of opening a couple at a time.

OMG, that's the little cutting??? Holy Cow, mine never get that big. Guess that's why Floridata doesn't like passiflora foetida.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Yes, this is the one, can you believe it??? Guess it loves the good 'ole Florida sand and sun. Gonna have to find another place for it though, DH is complaining about it by the front door.

Gosh Dee, that is a lot of bud. It looks like a lot of them will open at the same time. Hope you get a picture of it.

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Wow, look at that thing...it's huge! And I thought the one the future DH planted had really grown!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

look at that thing go....I can believe it, the passionvines that I have have taken over here too, I am geoing to cut them back to a foot. the gazebo has been completely taken over, and the one in front started climbing up the house, attaching its tendrils in the window screen, hubby got a little nervous and asked me to do something...so I just yanked them out and re-directed them up a post.
I too wish they would all bloom at once, it would be quite a stunning site wouldnt it?
Will you post a close up of your flower on there?

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Soon as I can get a picture, maybe a few days, gots lots of rain and wind. The problem with this one is that so far it has only been opening a few at a time, really frustrating, I just would love to have one huge burst of bloom.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

wouldnt we all.....One huge burst of bloom would certainly be a spectacular sight!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am impressed Dee, that is amazing! Did you feed it alot?

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

Dee,

Only one flower will open per branch each day. Some have have two flowers per node (P. biflora, P. morifolia). In order to have more flowers open each day, get the plant to branch out as much as possible. I have had as many as 15 blooms each on P. vitifolia, P. 'Byron Beauty', P. 'Lavender Lady'. There were days when I found 15-20 blooms on P. foetida opened at same time.

Trim, Trim, Trim!
