This is one of our native butterflies in the UK. It is a painted lady and I think they are lovely.

Lovely butterfly! We have them here but rarely see them.
I get lots of painted ladies here. They lay eggs on the Pearly everlasting. Makes a mess of the plant... but that's okay.
Never realised they were so widespread
