It appears, according to scientists, that the ozone layer above the Southern hemisphere has stopped expanding and will soon begin to recede. I don't like to be pesimistic, but, I will be convinced when it starts to recede, and not sooner. Skin cancer from sun exposure is serious business here and doubly serious there.
I caddied in my teens with no hat or protection. Was a greenskeeper in Florida with no hat or protection. Always outdoors swimming, golfing, biking, and such. Now skin cancer is starting to show up. I understand it takes time for this to happen. And burning is a major culprit.
I now have the annual checkup (full body); this seems to be the best way of handling this.
