Here is my little Pearlmutt X seedling. It's still got teeny little leaves. I moved it to full sun thinking that might help. No difference.
Pearlmutt X odd seedling
I wonder what happened to these seeds, Cala! To have one mutation like Lizs seedling is ok but all of them? The seed pod hung on the motherplant for exact 18 month. I thought, he would never get ripe. If this is the problem?
A dwarf, isen't that what everyones been looking for???
Monika, I took cuttings about a week ago from a side shoot. In water they put out lenticels in a couple of days. They now are in soil and seem to be quite easily rooting. Would you like a couple back?
monika it isn't all of them. I have one quite regular, will take pictures when it gets daylight.
Liz, I would like to have a couple back as yours is very interesting. It was very unusual for a seed pod to stay such a long time on the plant. But if this is the reason, I dont know.
Yes, I have some that are normal, over 6 ft tall too. Several plants were like this, some didn't grow and eventually died. I took cuttings from this one, in 2 weeks they were rooted very well. I'll set the two plants together and try to get a picture.
Cala, I will repeat the cross or better, Ludger will do that I am looking forward for your picturesas I gave him the large Perlmutt plant. I am looking forward to your pictures but will answer tonight, because I must prune and bring my plants in. I went into the house only to eat.
I'll take some hopefully tomorrow, it's been raining like crazy here. Over filled my pool, it ran over the side like a flood right on my gingers and alstromerias.
I don't know how I missed the header - perfect! Perlmutt x Odd.
Good one Cala -
Bringing this one back up. Calla, how is your's doing? This was 9 months ago. My cuttings all rooted easily and looked normal all winter. They're about 2 feet tall and the newest growth is starting to go back to the culebra-type leaves. Mother plant still alive and well but warped. It has Y'd, 3 arms instead of 2.
Liz, mine is growing, the leaves are long and thin, but not as thin as Culebra. It hasn't bloomed yet, but I need to check on it to see if it has a Y.
It's probably a stretch to call it a Y. There is a flattened stem with 3 shoots coming out side by side.
