Isadore...go away

For those of us that live along the Gulf of Mexico it looks like Isadore is coming our way....What we need now is a nice snow storm in the Gulf. Brugs and Hurricanes don't mix.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Glory, I sure hope this one turns and misses any of you living down that way. Guess I'll just stick to our thunderstorms that have mild winds with them. Hope all turns out okay for you.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh no, Gloria will be praying for you. My Mom was scared to death of those things after Camille.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I hope and pray it turns away from you all down there. Brother lives in Sarasota. Will keep an eye on you down there and hope for the best. I'm with Brugie on this one, been through a couple of them myself when I lived there.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Good luck, would never want to go through one of them!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Sure hope it misses you.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Good luck! when is it supposed to arrive?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We will be praying for you Glory, been in one, don't ever want in another.

Oh dear, Gloria. I sure hope it changes course and misses you. I remember one from years ago when I was in Florida. Not nice at all.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Wouldn't ya just know it, I am planning a trip down that way on Monday or Tues - I wanted to see lots of pretty flowers!! Looks like it may be pretty wet then. Oh I so hope it will turn away!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

well I sure hope it doesn't get any of you. last i heard it could get anyone of our friends along the Gulf Coast from FL to Mexico? praying it will wind down

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Azalea, which part of florida are you going to?

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Biloxi - where Glory & Roz & MsJen & Irish live. We won't go if it is going to be really bad by Mon or Tuesday - don't want to drive 6 hrs in rain or get flooded out.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Let's just hope it goes someplace else. like back out in the Ocean. Don't want to see anybody get this one. Glory, Jen, Marie, remember we all lived through Camille and made it so we will be okay. Bad, bad timing, with your daughter coming for a visit, Glory.
Poor, poor greenhouse under a big pine tree.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Hurricanes are awful but I went through a snowstorm in Chicago that I will never forget. Hard to compare but I think I will take the canes.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Hope it veres off some where else

Just save the BRUGS!!!

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

PJ, Irish lives in Gulfport, FL down by Tampa/Clearwater.
Gloria, any advise on what to do with my brugs. Hoping it don't come this way either, but neet to start preparing just in case.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Dee, i think about all you can do is protect the ones in pots, take inside or a safe place. and make sure if you have cuttings rooted like i do you put them where they won't get water logged. and batten down the hummer feeders.

Hamilton, Canada

I hope this passes by you Gloria. Marilyn received the package and wouldn't open it because she didn't know who it was from. Last night we chatted on yahoo chat and I told her they were from me. She opened the box and was typing she was squealing with delight...lol. Thanks for sending...your postage went into the mail yesterday...thanks again..

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Dee - I didn't realize there was a Gulfport, Fl as well as Gulfport, MS.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Me either... I wont forget about ANDREW.... I dont know what to do with my brugs.. I guess.. I might get each cutting before I leave it if it come hit here.. I don't want to go through that again.. GO AWAY!!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Honeybee is also here on the coast; she is in Saucier. Are you battening down the hatches, Honeybee?

Dee,
Do as Arlene advised. The ones in the ground will more then likely get broken depending which way the wind is blowing. I think what I'll do if it comes this way is to take some cuttings and hope for the best. I didn't have a greenhouse when Georges came through 4 years ago so everything went in the shed and garage. Be sure to pickup all your lawn furniture and other things that may blow cause they surely will.

Joyce,
That is funny about your sister....hopefully she didn't let the box sit to long before she finally opened it.

Gloria and Arlene, thanks for advise about brugs. Been through a couple of hurricanes before but not with brugs. Depending on which way the wind blowes I might be taking cuttings myself I see. Some are in the ground and some in pots. We are having to start preparing for evac plan. Year End will still come, hurricanes or not, we just might have to finish the year at another location. If it is category 3 or below we will still be here at work.

PJ - Ironically, Gulfport FL is on the coast as well.

IF isidore comes, shes gonna be a strong one. I live in a mobile home (ummm, i mean my mobile mansion) and if shes as strong as everyone seems to think shes going to be, theres no place that i could put them that would safer than in the ground.
I'm just gonna be really, really upset if my mansion ends up top side on my ecquador pink, rofl
jen

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

praying for all of you. please take care. I'm watching this like no other storm because of my dear friends.

Jen,
Y'all better go somewhere else....you can always get more Brugs and a house.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

for now looks like we are going to be alright the weather channel is saying that its going to turn west twords mexico so were safe for at lease 72 morw hours

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

We can sleep at least four on beds - and maybe 20+ lined up on the floor in the basement!!

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

We need the water, but sure don't want the wind. I've been trying to figure out what to do about the really tall brug with multiple trunks. Just came to me that if I put some fence wire around it maybe, it would keep it from bending far enough to break. If it comes this way, think I'll try it. But if it's really strong, that probably won't save it either.

Hamilton, Canada

Oh MsJen,
Please go somewhere that will be safe. Don't want to lose anyone in troubled times like this. Do be cautious!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Hope all of you in its' path, are safe through it, plant your feet firmly, so you don't get blown away. Watching it constantly, probably won't be until Monday, before they will know for sure where it is going, hope out to sea!

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

If it comes my way I'm going to drive some of those metal
"T"post alongside my best in-ground brugs and tie them to it.Then do some heavy top pruning.I have some seed pods that I really don't want to lose.Potted ones will go inside.

Gloria,
She waited a couple of days before I caught up with her. She knew that someone was sending her a box from me, but didn't know if that was the box or not. Her Ex is visitng his girls this week and he brought down her wrought iron garden bench to give to her. She said she just sat and cried because she never expected to get it from him. It made her so happy. Marilyn was telling me how the balcony off the living room is going to be HER private space with different flowers and her garden bench so that's why she was squealing when she opened the box. I gave her very careful instructions on how to root the cuttings and to pot up the rooted plant and the EE. Well now I guess she will get the brug fever!

Hamilton, Canada

Its moved north!! My sis in Indianapolis said it hit there. They were without power for 24 hours. The church across the street is gone and so is the school right next door. Estimated damage to both buildings is 30 million. They had a little damage to their building, but they are okay. The children were horrified and they want to move!! They never experienced anything like this in Canada.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Gloria, that wasn't isidore. she's still in the gulf, still headed to louisianna i think.

Hamilton, Canada

Marilyn said it was a tornado...i thought that was what isadore was...my misunderstanding...sorry...but indiana got hit with something...

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

oh, okay. tornadoes are much worse than hurricanes, the only thing is hurricanes often have tornadoes in them. tornadoes are terrible, no wonder they are upset.
