We need a fair chance :o(

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I can't stand the thought of all these seedlings not getting a chance to bloom. Today I cut down and labeled 75 babies. I'm only gonna bring in the ones that have Yed. I cut branches & extra stalks off the big ones, I cut all the pot bound ones I never got planted, I even went through and cut all of them that were planted on top of my compost pile.

Does anyone want to grow out a box full of seedling cuttings? Most of these are Eric's crosses. A few are from LBJ seeds and few are from others. I labeled each plant as to the cross (if known), and who's cross it is - like Eric's and a number. So if more than one person get's a piece of the same plant we'll know and not have to play a guessing game next year. There might be some real special plants here ... or Maybe there's 75 Frosties -lol. Anyone wnat to give them a chance? I'm not sure how many will fit in pound box - maybe 6 or 8?

A 1 pound box would be $3.85 postage. More than 1 lbs will depend on your zone. My zip code is 04092 - you can look up shipping for 2 pounds or more here http://postcalc.usps.gov/ Most of these will have to be cut into pieces in order to ship - so I have plenty to go around. If I can't handle anymore requests - I'll edit this post.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

for all of you that get unbloomed seedling cuttings, please make sure you keep the tags with them. I found that Sharpie and paint pens have faded this year. Pencil has not.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes tiG - good point. I was pretty careful about labeling each plant as I cut it down. I also logged them all in a notebook. Some plants will go to more than one person but others will be the "one and only" that go out. I'm not gonna take the time to make up labels for each piece - They'll just be marked with tape. It's important to keep these labeled and you may want to put my name on the back of the tag so you know who it came from. There will be alot of seedlings blooming next year and we want to make sure that each one has it's own ID.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

well, not just for these, although seedlings are very important, but for everything we get this year in trade. I am having to get rid of some just because I don't know 100% what they are because my paint washed out. we might not have to go through so much ID next year if we all make a strong effort to tag correctly. what code are you using for Erics'??

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL Arlene! You have mail!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I have them labeled as Erics #-whatever. Do you think that will add to more confusion? Maybe I should put my initials first? like PS-Erics #20?....what do ya think?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

actually I don't know:) but I like that PS, cause it will remind people that if they have questions, they can come back to you first. I don't know that you'd even have to put Erics, if you keep a master list of the #s?? what do I know??? LOL!!

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Hi poppysue! I've never even heard of Brugs until I joined DG! I am very interested in them! If you have any left, could I join in and send you postage for some of your cuttings?

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Hehe, another addict in the making!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Sue_Wa is NEW! Sure didn't take us long to get her addicted, did it?

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Hi Floridian and Hibiscus! YEP! I'm here every morning reading DG! I've never seen a Brug here in WA! Do you train them as standards? I wanna be the first on on my block.........LOL!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Sue, there are a few brug addicts in Washington. I'm not sure how far Renton is from Vancouver, but if you're close, you can come down and get some cuttings from me and see them in bloom. My second flush of blooms is in bud stage, I'm hoping that the weather will hold out for them.
I need to get them ready to bring inside, perfect opportunity for you to get lots of cuttings. come on down!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hi Sue_WA and welcome to the brug/datura forum. Hope you enjoy your visits and get as addicted to brugs as the rest of us.

Shirley

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Hello Pebble and Brugie! Thanks! Pebble, your near Portland, right? I'm about 20 mi from Seattle-about 2 1/2 hour drive I think! That is so kind of you to offer-but unfortunately, I can't drive that far! But, if ya happen to have those cuttings laying around, let me know and I'll send you postage for them!! Sue

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

Poppysue, If you still have any, I would be particulary interested in anything peach or pink or anything especially unusual. Or doubles. I don't think I have any doubles. I'll email my address and send postage. Thanks

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Poppysue gets two gold stars for accurate record keeping. we must ALL practice this if we are to avoid another Frosty Pink barrage like we have now.Tag your crosses and tag your seedlings..... :-)

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

I just started growing brugs this year and it truly is a bad addiction. I have a frosty, but don't have anything white, but since I am in love, I would take anything... Let me know what to do.....Sue
