need advice on yorkshire terrier

We have a 4 yr old yorkie. for about 1 1/2 years now.. was told she was house trained, but she wasn't. used the crate training method, a little dog crate-- and the stinker does her business in it still! I don't know what to do.. during the day, I watch her pretty good, I guess I'm the one trained.....but at night, and every day cleaning that doggie crate gets old. and giving her so many baths too.. any advice??? I really need some about this.. thanks Bon
