The pale pink edge didn't show up very well in this, but I do like the soft color. I've got another almost like this one that came from Brugie(yes, I'm sure it was her since she traded me lots of brugs for a vigna vine, really got me started on the road to true addiction) I got this one from Glory. This is the best group of people, now look what you've created, a monster brug addict!!
Valley Misty Pink
That is a really soft pink. The cutting I got from her is just starting to Y, so there might be hope yet if weather holds up.
All of my Valley grow plants were mislabeled and are common kinds I already had......sold as NEW introductions..HA!Ya live and learn..then ya get burned....LOLGuess who won't get any refferals from me!
The ones I got from him had mites really bad.
It seem that many don't know or care what they are selling anymore. What a shame. I think we have to talk Monika into moving to the US. It seems that's the only way we can buy Brugs and know for absolutely sure what we are getting. WE'll have to start a Move Monika fund. LOL
i think earl shut down a few months ago, haven't heard why. i bought an aurea gold and aurea yellow gold. the aurea gold looked funny so i threw it away in a garbage bag. the aurea gold looks more like dr suess every day.....
oh my!! I gave Earl such good marks last year. I feel bad now cause that was based solely on nice looking plants then. Seems like we need a good brug seller in the US. Cala??? that would have to be you
Arlene, my aurea gold from him looks like Dr Suess too!
TiG, I'm working on it(actually Annie is). I've got to upload all the pictures. I talked to my ISP yesterday, didn't even know I had a homepage I could use. Now to figure out how. My last ISP had something called "Click and build" but this one I have to use Webpage Creator(wondered why I had that in XP) and upload it to my homepage. I'm too old to learn this new stuff. Bill is all for me doing that too and said if it goes good I can have the biggest GH.(that big Gothic style one with 14ft ceilings)
Cala,
That's great news....I know you can make a go of it!!!
that is wonderful news!!!
Cala, I think you can do it. Might have to be selective in the stock you handle for a year or two, but it would be great for people to have a place to order a good strong plant and know that they would get it in a reasonable amount of time, not years.
OK, I can't figure out how to use this program.(Microsoft Front Page) I'm quitting till this evening. I can't get it to work. Going to pull what little bit of hair I have left out!!!
I have to use front page to do my web page too.I don't know if my sytem has it and not sure I want to buy it.I have windows ME,does anyone know if that has front page?
Cala, my daughter makes web pages for people and I'm sure she would help you with Front Page. I remember her saying that if you are going to upload a picture, it can have no spaces in the name of it. That is about all I can remember. My brain doesn't retain anything anymore.
Congratulations Cala!! About time!! You will have so much fun and because you love plants and people you will be a great success!!
That is really great news!
Wow Kell, That is the same thing I got from him.......Now you know why I wouldn't let you take credit for the EP! Way to go Cala!
eclipse, i just wonder. now last year he was so easy to deal with, answered mail in a couple of hours. boy, i was praying that aurea just had serrated leaves.
cala, way to go!
Arlene, he has abandoned his email address...I got a return notice that he has exceded his email account..that usually means they have not used that email address anymore..or for very long time periods,,,suppose if he sold so many goofups he probably hit the road to keep away from the complaints!
Wonder if he is sick. Tracey said the last time she talked to him, he didn't make much sense, like he'd had a stroke or something.
He just kept repeating everything over and over, with in minutes of saying it. I would hate to be mad at him, if there really has been something bad happen to him.
I sang Earl's praises last year but I also wound up with a yard full of Dr.Suess.Worse things could happen. At least the yard smells great at night> :>)I do hope he's not sick. You can't help but like the man but I won't be ordering any more Brugs from him.

Wow it looks like everybody got Dr. Seuss for everything they ordered. I ordered Dr. Seuss and C.G., Have a bunch of Dr. Seuss.....
JT,
So you haven't been back to Earl's since the March plant swap? I bet Ann misses not going there again. ;)
Yep.We havn't been back.Ann's comment was "my God,how can he stand this place"?I told her to give me a couple of years and I could have ours looking like his.
I do want to go back and see him again. All said and done,he's an interesting person.I will still enjoy visiting, just won't be buying more Dr S.
edited for explanation
For those of you who havn't had the pleasure of visiting Valley Growers,it's a completely confused and disorganized jumble of over a hundred thousand plants scattered about through a pine forest. The hundred thousand is Earl's estimate.I think that's on the low side.

GTS, believe it or not, mine were what he had them tagged.
JT,
You have one funny wife. LOL I did so enjoy meeting her last spring.....you also.
Cala, you were lucky. There is just no way he can keep up with all that by himself.
Gloria, yes she's a funny girl. When we met about 35 years ago it was lust at first sight.
Gee gone2seed, with all those plants you would think he could find some great ones with which to fill his orders.
Ya know I haven't heard from him either. I feel really bad about all the mis named plants from him. I took a few of you guys over there this past spring. His plants were really healthy though (back then anyway).
