brug problem!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have 3 starters that all of a sudden lost their top leaves. They all look the same. No little leaves coming out eihter on top. I can't see any mites and the other leaves are fine and do not have any of at mites damage to the leaves. I will say these are pot bound.
Any ideas?

Could be pot bound, are they getting enough light? That's how the cyclamen mites do the brugs though, you can't see them without a hand lens.

Is anyone else having trouble with Dave's? I see Cala has her response posted 3 times. And I want to correct my typos and the edit this message is not there to click. Also, there were 16 views on this in lesshtan a minute.

Cala, but should the white dots, from them sucking out the chlorophyl, be on the leaves? The leaves look great except they are far from the main stem. Lack of light I would think. I did drown them for 30 minutes the other day and then Neemed them. Would that get rid of any cyclamen mites? There is no other damage. And no, they get no direct sunlight. They are in the shade.

dang kell, now it's got 25 views!!!

kell, you didn't give them their 30 minute dunk!! and look at that baby shoot coming up!! give them their dunk, and repot them!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

yea, either I am very popular or dave's is crazed! The edit message is still gone! Something is wrong.

Kell, seems like a light problem. Not enough of it. The neem will get rid of cyclamen mites, you may have to use it more than once, no you can't see the little sucking spots. Cyclamen mites make the leaves brittle and curled/deformed.

dave is working on the edit, it will be back later

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes Arlene, I did . I always listen to those who are smarter than I!!! I did what you said and then did what Cala said. I am no fool! See above! Maybe the problem is solved!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

must be light problem, the leaves are fine. My typos are not! LOL

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

all the govt ag sites say 30 minutes, 110F will kill them. you need to dunk the pots too to kill whatever is in the soil.
next step, ms kell.... pull them out and wash the soil off like you are going to mail, and repot them in big pots!!! they should take off for you!

I did not do the repotting part, Arlene, will do this week!
I should buy a thermometer I guess, I have no idea how hot 110 degrees is! So do not know if I got it hot enough!

Huge GUFFAW!! That cat looks like it's tail is in a vise! But I don't think dave anticipated you.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That cat is my best friend Miss Lizzy! So watch it! She came into my life 2 years ago as a stray found at work. When I am home she never leaves my side, whether I am outside or at the computer or in bed.

I feel he is a he.........is he??

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

This is DD's cat G. One of her 2 black cats. And the ugly blanket is hers too - where did I go wrong! LOL. The design taste, not the cats.
