This is an emergency SOS - I really need some of these in my pond; they kept the water so clean last year, I can tell the difference already. If anyone has some for trade, I have hardy water lilies, or perhaps something else - let me know what you're looking for.
Or I'd be glad to send postage. Just want to get them going before summer really sets in and does a number on my ponds. Thanks!
Looking for Water Hyacinths
Still looking......
What is the difference between hyacuinth and water hyacinth...except for the obvious? I have regular hyacinth seed drying as we speak.
Sandy
Sandy, water hyacinths are not hyacinths at all. They are floating pond plants that send up a hyacinth-looking flower spike. One of those examples of why latin names are so important, huh?

Apparently my editing capabilities are not working properly. Here's a link to some pictures and the latin name of this plant, if you're interested: http://aquat1.ifas.ufl.edu/eicrpic.html
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I took part in a Spring Fling last Sat. help cleaned out the lakes. I didn't see this message then or I would have grabbed some for you.
Let me see if I can get you some.
Hey go! your luck day!! LOL! I have many!! Let me know if you want some from me..or if Tim will get you some! They are a bad deal here...clog up our bayous! I have a bayou that runs through my property and lots of them! LIsa
Oh, ya'll will just make my day. Tim - if you can't get any just post a reply back here, and I'll work out a trade with Lisa. I know they're bad news in warm climates, but they do a fantastic job of keeping my pond clear. I promise not to unleash them on any natural pond or stream here, although we get cold enough that they wouldn't survive our winters anyway. Many, many thanks!!!!!
Terry,
Sorry, but I can't get to the leftover, they are in the middle of the lake. I can't even get to the cat-tails.
