Rosabelle's pedicle

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I tried to get a picture of the little stalk thingie that holds the flower, it grows up from the stem, then hangs down.

Are you writing on your stems?
That's what she said - Rosabelle is the only one with the peduncle pointing up. I spent ages today staring at peduncles LOL - I know, not enough to do, but it's the only one that does it.

Liz, do you think this is the right one then? I know what you mean about staring at stems(and flowers, seed pods, comparing colors, etc) like we have too much time on our hands!!!
I write on the stems and the penduncle. With Rosamond, I wrote as high up on the main trunk as I could reach and them just put an arrow!! Ladders and I don't get along, so any blooms that open higher up will just have to take what the bees give them!! I know where my pollen has been disappearing to, the honeybees grab every grain. No telling what I'll get from the ones they got to. I love all the open flowers, but I'm about to get tired of pollinating, just can't leave them alone!!
For writing on the stems, I use a liquid sharpie, mush the end up a bit so it won't scratch the stem and it lasts about a year. I used paint pens last year, but it faded/peeled. I had the hangie tag things you wrap around, but the little birds like to pick at them and they come undone. Can't fuss at the little birds though, they do great collecting the worms!!

I'm using those hanging tags, but writing on them and then wrapping shipping tape (clear) around the whole thing. One piece will cover both sides and the end where the string is attached, so it doesn't come loose. best I can come up with for now

Cala, I will look for a picture, where Rosabelles flowerstalk is clear to see. Question: Does your plant has large, deep serrated leaves, hairy but very glossy?

Monika, I really can't remember, I'll look tomorrow.
