EK3 first morning

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

love it!!!!! DH is so excited that no one ever saw this before us. He's finally getting it and is now seeing the difference in the flowers. This is (DrS x EP) x Butterfly. so is this an aurea hybrid or a Mehrfacht, or just a Multi???
Since early when it was really too dark to get a good picture, the pink has creeped up between the ribs even more. will put more pictures in my journal to show the tendrils off better, they twist.

Oh, a nice one TiG. I'll send you a collection of misnamed pinks for a cutting!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

LOL!!! arlene, I'll pass on the frosties thanks! it is only about 50 so inches tall, Y'ed at 41". sad to say it's in a 3 gallon pot!!! It's not loaded but has maybe 6 or 8 more buds. but it has a shoot coming up from the bottom that I would gladly share with two of the ones that I owe most to. Won't be cutting it back, I lovingly caressed it with Butterfly pollen last night.
that's 3 out of 4 that are pink, can't beat that with a stick!!!

TiG, I'll send all my whites to you, you have the magic touch so maybe they will turn pink.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I don't have any kind of touch, but I think Eric does!

I think you may be right TiG.

arlene, I just spent some quality time with my babies and Spring Peach is one of my dream brugs. the peach between the ribs fills in all the way, and the ribs remained yellow. Great striped look. and the shape has held up, today's the 3rd day and it doesn't collapse during the day. Dr D is beautiful, it does collapse some as does EK3 above, but not to an ugly shape. The recurve on Spring Peach is perfect to me, and the tendrils are very long.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

sounds like true love to me tiG!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Beautiful!

(Zone 6a)

That is a beauty, tiG. Sounds like you have a dream garden of brugs:) You have posted pics of soooooo many beautiful ones......do you guard your brugs at night? LOL

no:) tonight I'll have two more of Eric's new ones open, Butterfly and Pink Beauty. I'm in heaven. 2 Solid Golds, Insignis Gold, Isabella, Whiskers, 3 C. double whites, 3 of Eric's seedlings, Spring Peach, Dr D, Versi Peach and Dr Seuss all have blooms open now. I guess I complained to the right person!!!

tiG, a Mehrfachhybride is the same as a Multihybrid. Mehrfachhybride stands for hybrids, which are a mix of all natural species.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

thanks:) so it wouldn't be an aurea hybrid, would be multi??

Thats so, even if it looks like a suaveolens hybrid.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll have to post more to my journal, this is the closed state. I tried to take real careful pictures of the calyx and everything. But sure of the parentage.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

tiG, the shape of the flower resembles almost a funnel not the clear trumpet form of a aurea hybrid. The longer tendrils show aurea influence. Its the flower shape, that counts first, not how the calyx looks like.
Take a look at Liz Esmeraldas picture. Both parents have a trumpet shaped flower and so does Esmeraldas.

monika, you have to forgive me, I am still learning so much. You are exactly right, it has a suaveolens type flower. Here's the open flower from first thing this morning http://davesgarden.com/editgj/showimage.php?iid=10998
This is one of my favorite shapes, looks skirtish:) Now to build up the aurea in it!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

each time you tell me, I learn more:) I appreciate your patience, I really do.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I dont loose my patience tiG, even if it sometimes sounds like it. Its the way of translation. We have in the german language many fill-in words, to take off the harsh but I dont know too many words of it in your language.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh no, it didn't sound like it, it's just that I still have so much to learn. like the flower shape is considered first. you didn't sound harsh to me:)

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

You have a "gold mine" there tiG. Beautiful bloom!

Lovely brug Tig.
