So late they are; mine lost their berries a coupple of months ago. How long is the growing season/frost-free season in Alaska?

We are frost-free about June 1st and we could have a hard frost anytime between mid-September and mid-October. It's aways a guessing game around here! You're summer is much hotter than ours, isn't it? We seldom get above 70 degrees here.

We are frost free around May 1st; and we usually dont get frosts before October 1st. This summer was very hot compared to other summers; the temperatures are still arond 75-80 deg.; and we had temperatures up to 95 deg. in July and August. It confused all the plants; we've had apple-trees flowering for the second time in one year!

I am not looking forward to the first frosts; I have too many tender plants outside, and the room I keep them in during the winter are already full...

Do you get a lot of snow? The winters here are mild; but they are wet, which kills of a lot of plants, unfortunately.

Ditto here, Arsenic. Last year we had an early hard freeze, then it warmed up and rained for a long time. Subsequently, in the spring, water was trapped at the roots and we lost many perennials :(

As for snow, it varies. Often we don't have much snow until December, or it melts about as soon as it falls. Our biggest snows are after the first of the year, it seems.
