This is my first year growing herbs. I live in zone 5. I have , rosemary,tircolored sage, curly parsley,thyme and cilantro. they are planted in a large planter, and I have grow lights in the house. Would it be ok to slowly bring them inside for the winter??
Overwintering herbs
Annabelle: Yes, you could bring them inside. Now would be the time to bring them in. The only one that would make it through our winters would be the thyme. Sometimes the parsley will overwinter, but is a bi-ennial. The cilantro is an annual, but will reseed. The tricolor sage will not overwinter outside in zone 5, anyway it didn't for me. Rosemary needs to be taken inside, won't overwinter.
