I was in the garden a few minutes ago & stuck to one of my plants is what may be a cocoon & looks like a LARGE glob of bird poop. I know something makes one that looks like that but can't think what it is. I would have taken a picture but it started raining & ran me in the house.

Poppysue that could be it but this is really more teardrop shaped. That is close though.

that sure does look like poop....
That's the one I was trying to remember Poppysue. You sure are good at this! If not the Giant Swallowtail, possibly another? Palmedes Swallowtail also has a 'poop like' caterpillar.
