mine has several big buds on it. Caught a caterpillar destroying all the buds on one near by, if they get to this one, I will cry.
Oh my! I sure hope mine is like this one. Was Mme. Blin your mentor Monika? Did you learn everything from her or was it the other way around?
Pink Beauty is a member of the famous R-Family.
Mme Blin and I met in the eighties. We worked together but each of us went a different way in breeding. We discussed our breeding plans together but Mme Blin had the better chances because of the mild climate in the Rhine Valley. Versis were prospering in her garden and she used them freely. I was quite handicapped here in hessian sibiria LOL. While Mme Blin could take the direct way in crossing did I have to create hybrids first, which tolerated the rough climate and breed with them. I tested all of Mme Blins hybrids and all of them needed a whole year for aclimatization.
So you were partners in brugs. You must miss her. She certainly created a lot of beautiful plants.
Pink Beauty is one of my favorites. I have pods on mine and today I cut below the air layer and potted up one of the stalks with a pod. It doesn't even look like it knew anything happened. Mme Blin did a good job on this one, for sure.
Mine is budded, had one bloom open today.

I tried moving things around a bit today, knocked 2 blooms off Golden Lady, so I quit. Then the wind started blowing really hard, blew Pink Beauty over. Bill picked it back up for me.

just checked my pink beauty,and I have a YYYYYYYYYYY,no side shoots though,and I need a magnifying glass to see the buds,but if I pot it up now it should still bloom.....shouldn't it?

Mine is blooming. I took a photo, but I've done something to my camera, messed with the settings again. I'm trying to fix it. Got my cable fixed to the computer, 3X the speed now!!
Arlene, I thought JT got his Pink Beauty from Barb. That is where I got mine too. I might be wrong and I hope he does have the Rosamond. I'd sure like to get a start of it if that is what he has. My Pink Beauty doesn't look like this one either. Mine is really pink. Large blooms and calyx that is quite long. Guess we will find out if JT gets back online soon.
Mine came straight from Hodnik's too. I thought Barb bought most of her original euros from Hodnik. But it sure looks like mine is setting up to be a big bloom. So maybe it's Rosamond too.
Mine did come from Barb.She apparently has both and I believe she said they came from LBJ.Judging from Monika's and others pictures I believe she sent me Rosamond by mistake.Mine has very large and very dark pink flowers.
At least when(and if) Barbara makes a mistake it turns out to be a great one.I will post up the picture again and I hope Monika will comment on the identity.
Let me also mention that Barbara is out of town visiting a critically ill sister so she can't respond to this.Barb please feel free to slap me down when you get back.
