I went to a little get together last night and we had a _great_ speaker on herbs. "The Herb Lady" talked about 50 different herbs...their individual histories and their medicinal and/or culinary uses. Boy, did I learn a lot! She's so sought after for her expertise that she's opening up her own business in a couple of months selling medicinal herbs and all the supplies that go with making teas, tinctures, etc.
Do any of you market herbs? I've really been thinking about selling them (in a pretty big way) in addition to my produce at the farmer's market. I already have _lots_ of herbs planted in the "back forty". Everyone loves herbs and I think the demand for a living plant would be very good. Much better than buying those wilted or dried out things in the grocery store. Those things are disgusting! In my area I have found herbs to be quite expensive...$3.00 and up for a _very_ small pot. If you love to grow herbs, there's some money to be made and a business to be started by you. Turn your hobby into a lucrative business! What ya think? Anybody already doing this?

The herbs that can be found here are the worst looking things I have ever seen! Not to mention NO selection! This year will probably be just selling from my house or maybe in a parking lot like a yard sale thing LOL I am trying to have the harder to find herbs and I am also raising 12 different scented germ. Other than that, I am just going to see what is asked for most and go from there! Email me and keep me updated on how things are going your way! Are you getting any rain on your side of the state? Not a drop here!
I sure hope the ole well holds out! lol We are looking at pumps for the lake, got to keep everything watered aomehow!!

I would love to do that same thing ! I am waiting til we move ..then UP goes a greenhouse for me * or two or three or...! And I will be growing LOTS of herbs and plants. I hope to be able *one day* to have a small nursery in my area that specializes in herbs. :-)
