In the Jungle

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

This was taken looking across and under some of the flowering ones. I couldn't get the camera to focus, it was confused by the many flowers I think. This doesn't show how loaded they are, just the edge. I stayed till 8 tonight and the fragrance was awesome!!

Wow Cala! That looks beautiful. Great picture.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Snow, I must have taken dozens of photos trying to get one that was in focus.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Beautiful . . can't wait to see it in person. I can sure understand why you would be there at 8 in the evening.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

That is a wonderful pic, it really does look like a jungle.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's quiet back there. The big greenhouse fans(in the other houses, they would suck the plastic off my little one)make a type of "white noise" that drowns out everything else, but isn't annoying. There are all kinds of frogs and birds around chirping.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Awesome Cala.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh my, what a great picture. What I wouldn't give to have a Jungle like this one.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

This one I like.......... even though I now know terrible things are happening in that peaceful appearing place!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Cala that is very lovely! when taking shots, the light should be behind ur shoulder, not towards the light or u will have difficulty focusing. just my 2 cents.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

it must be true Ma Vie for that is what my DH is always telling me and I ignore him each and every time......LOL

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh, but I think this light is soft enough to make the brugs look more even delicate than they are - beautiful!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Absolutely gorgeous, Cala.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kell, i learned that from a professional photographer. if u take note in making motion pictures, or pros always have the lighting behind them. to soften the lights effects - they cover the light with an umbrella to soften the effect. one thing more if u observe in professional photographers, uses black background for great effect! to get clearer pix.

Great photo Cala. Beautiful brugs too.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Bward proves that Ma Vie!!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

i know which is why i am always a silent observer on how photos are taken. only reason why i commented tonight is cause of what Cala said on the her original statement.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well I think Bward must have talked to your professional photogragher!! Her brugs with the black backgrond are great.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

i doubt it. it was back in the Phils. when i was a teenager. i learned a lot of technique in photography as a fashion model.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yeah, but sometimes you got to take them where you can get them. If you've ever seen her jungle house, there are only a very few places that you can be!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

MaVie, thanks, the ones I took that were so terrible had the sun in front of me. I'll have to take one this morning, the sun will be behind me then.
I'm not a great photographer, I should spend more time on composition, but I'm a "snap and shoot" kind, especially with digital because I can delete!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

i do understand Cala, often times we have to do the best we can under the circumstances we have to deal with. i've done my share of mistakes too, being ever so eager to take pix of what the naked eye can see at the moment ;). all previous statements were done to be constructive, NOt to be critical at all. if, i've offended anybody, am sorry, they were just mere suggestion/s.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You could never offend anyone Ma Vie, you are one of the most helpful people here!!

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

Wow, Cala, that is in a greenhouse? I hope mine look like that later on! How warm do you keep it in the wintertime at night? Just curious.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

thank Kell :)!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

WAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHH.....I wanna be in the jungle!!!!

"eyes"

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

This is right outside the greenhouse, all must come in toward the end of October/first November.
MaVie, not offended. I need all the help I can get!!
Eyes, come on up, I'll put you to work pollinating brugs.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Love it Calla!

Woodville, TX(Zone 8a)

WOW!!! Those are real beauties! Oh for a jungle like that!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Cala ur jungle reminds of the humid, teeming jungle of the Phil. forests, only difference is there are no brugs but millions of different varieties of fragrant orchids and tropical plants. thanks for sharing the photos of different brug varieties u've posted :)!!!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

WOW.. Beautiful!

Very lovely Cala.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I'm off topic here - I saw a movie YEARS ago, called Body Heat - Kathleen Turner and someone else. This picture reminds me of it. You could feel humidity, no I'm not talking about anything else - just the air humidity. Anyone know where it was supposed to be? Louisiana (sp-sorry) Georgia?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I remember that movie, it was La I think, maybe New Orleans.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Body Heat (1981) is a dramatic, modern day film noir, set in the hot atmosphere of Miranda Beach, Florida.
The alluring, crafty, and sultry "Matty Walker" (Kathleen Turner) seduces corruptible, dim-witted, naive, and incompetent attorney Ned Racine (William Hurt), to convince him to kill her husband Edmund (Richard Crenna). She is interested in Ned because he isn't very intelligent:

You're not too smart, are you? I like that in a man.
She uses everything as an instrument of seduction, including incredibly sweaty and sexy love-making and lewd suggestive dialogue, to manipulate his emotions so that he will help plot the murder: "Do it!" "I need you so badly." "I want you right now more than I ever have!" "I'd kill myself if I thought this thing would destroy us." He complains: "I'm red; I'm sore." "You shouldn't wear that body!"

After the murder, Ned learns from cop Oscar Grace (J. A. Preston) that Matty is a suspect and that he should stay away from her:

She's trouble, Ned. Real big-time major-league trouble.
The plot twist at the conclusion is a knockout surprise. "Matty" is killed in an explosion (identified by dental records) and Ned is imprisoned for the murder. He looks in Matty's high school yearbook and finds that she is, in reality, Mary Ann Simpson, and her ambition was: "To be rich and live in an exotic land," a wish that is fulfilled in the last image of "Matty" lying on a beach somewhere in an exotic land.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Where do you get this stuff??
It was Florida? No wonder you can't grow sanguinea down there!
ROFLOL - no, really!ROFLOL!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Liz, probably Kell was a co-author or producer of the film. ROFLOL! did yah Kell? LOL!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I AM Matty Walker!!! I use everything as an instrument of seduction, including incredibly sweaty and sexy love-making! Just ask Tom! See me sweat!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

talking about having great imagination :)!!!! LOL Kell !!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)
