This one is loaded too. Just starting to color up today. Wasn't sure what pollen to use on her, she's got bunches of pollen, but not sure what to use it on, so I applied some to a CFP.
Amber Rose, just getting started
Love the shape.Hope you'll post another picture in a couple of days. Please.
Snow, I will. I need to move her a little, she's growing into Golden Lady.
beautiful shape!!! I know when mine blooms I'm putting Butterfly on her at Eric's suggestion.
TiG, I'll do that. I think I put some of the GTX pollen on it. Wish Marabech were blooming, I think that would be a good cross.
Okay....question: What is the correct way to spell the name of this brug mentioned above. I think I've seen it as Merrikeck, Marrakeck, Merrekech, the way Cala has it spelled, etc. There has to be a correct way to spell it and I'd like to have my tag read right. Anyone!!
Okay, did a search, and this is how it came out.

This is my favorite seedling out of my Dr.Sues x Ecuador pink cross. Anything pink would be good on her, but I'd stay away from the versicolors as she has so much versicolor tendency already. Of course as her Daddy is Dr.Sues yellow would be good as well....I know...not much help here.
Shirley, Machbeth would do for any Brug with sinister color. *LOL*
Eric, that`s what I thought. Any pink to go with the pink in the EP part of Amber Rose. Are EP + pink - pink? What are Dr. suess? + yellow/orange - Pink?
Yes, I use + for phenotype (visible color) and - for genotype (hidden color given to the offspring). I just getting lazy. *LOL*
Eric, I did that, used Butterfly and Becca Lynn pollen on her.
I must confess that I don't know how many genes for color a brug can hold. All I can tell you is that Dr.Sues x Ecuador pink gave me two first year bloomers. As you also know, I don't keep anything except in a very rare occassion that doesn't bloom in its first year. I do this in hopes of creating a line that produces hybrids that consistently bloom in under a years time. My thinking is thus, if the colors are in the mix, if the genes are there...well then I think its possible to breed for colors, substance, etc later at a much faster rate while using all first year bloomers. Still, after seeing Monika's hybrids and her way of letting them all bloom to get these magnificent colors and shapes....well then I must confess I am tempted to grow just one cross each and every year so I can have sufficient numbers to still get a few first year bloomers, but also to get the color and shape that Monika has as well. Still, I must confess Monika's hybridizing is not a matter of sheer numbers, but one of experience. Hopefully with a little time and luck though....
Eric, I did a lot of pink-pink, yellow -yellow croses, but had to do a few pink-yellow. Now to find somewhere to grow all these seedlings!!
I make pink x pink and pink x yellow crosses for the most part, but of course I have 3 dxs hybrids...y x y hybrids.
