I used Dr Suess and Frosty pinks in some of the 5 ft wide cement planters downtown this year.They are blooming great..just in time for Riverdance audiences..this is at the Civic center..the patrons go outside at intermission..guess this year they will get a better smell than just the river!!LOL

tiG my first try at doing the planters downtown..normally they are filled with......((YUCK)) petunias and marigolds!!!!!EEEEW!

And I didnot say he snapped............I said "and no one goes SNAP SNAP??" referring back to a Tonny thread where it was established that if we saw a brug we liked here, we would reach in and go snap and a cutting would be ours!! It sounded gooda the time tiG! I was just surprised that the masses where not snapping off the brug as they passed by.........even just for the flowers.

You aren't the petunia queen, you have the fancy new ones. They aren't even called petunias anymore are they? Can't remember - I can't grow anything like that if my life depended on it.
Wave petunias and I am in love with them and they me!!! I have such great ones. No muss no fuss. Did I post a pic of my birdbath yet? It is covered in 1 petunia!! And they do not cause me stress like brugs do!!!
And I am proud of it Eclipse!!! LOL

Well I have to admit that you do them beautifully - I just love the chairs - everything looks so full and lush. I haven't seen the birdbath - it'll be on the annuals forum?
I have a very dear friend who lives in LA (ugh,LA, not her)she can buy annuals all year round - now that I envy.
though it is nice not to have them all year, then you really appreciate them when you have them. If I didn't have a break I would burn out!! Liz, don't you think?

I may not have posted it. I have literally taken hundreds of pictures of it and can't seem to get one that I like. They all look grainy. It is also sitting in a sea of 2 different kinds of waves. I will post one now for you and for Eclipse!!

Kell, the petunia reference was because for years the other gardener downtown put petunias in EVERYTHING!!.we needed new variety..I love purple wave petunias myself and fantasy series...great in gardens.:-)

These look great - the surrounding plants look wonderful too - they must like the water and food as much as the brugs. Very, very nice job.
CC..they steal some plants when we first put them out..a block and a half away from the police station..go figure...most trouble comes from the winos..LOl

You know how it is Eclipse, a rumor gets started and it has a life of its own........... like the one that I wear a bikini 24 hours a day. Or all I have are Frosties. Or I just love pink naked chickens. Or only pink is allowed in my yard. Or that I have a huge Esmeraldas. Or I ditched tiG in Germany. Or I live with Liz and make her wait on me. Or I am really a famous movie star that was in a hot and steamy movie. Oh right, I started all those rumors........ well all I can say is just go with it!! It makes life much more interesting. Already 2 people have commented on how cool it is that you are trying to pollinate a brug with a purple petunia!!
OOPS, there goes another rumor!! And it wasn't me that started it, but it is kinda funny. Hey, this isn't funny, I was dumb enough to think I could maybe, just maybe get a blue Iochroma to cross with a brug. Well, I didn't even try in the end.
