winter seedling ?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I started some really good seeds last month, and am wondering. If it were summer, some if not most of these could be Y'ing and blooming in 6 months. I've got to keep them in my greenroom over the winter. What kind of damage will it do to them to keep them in gallon pots at the largest? will it permanently stunt them if I were to want any of them for an alley tree?

I don't think they will be stunted. I grew mine from seed and just kept up the fertilizer routine. In spring they just took off like monsters once I put them in big pots.

tiG - I didn't pot my seedlings up like everyone suggested last winter. I just didn't have the room. I'm sure it slows the growth down but they took off growing when I was able to get them outside. I have lots of buds coming on them now. Your growing season is so much longer I bet they'll flower much earlier for you.

what size did you keep them in?

The biggest pots were 1 gallon but most of the seedlings were in quart pots.

thanks:)
