Weeds (Pam and Tom)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Pam and Tom stopped by today, was wonderful meeting them. i sent them home with two nice sized cats, (zebra long wing). now i hope they get a boy and a girl so they can mate!!!!! could only find two, there had been tons out there. i guess plant people are never strangers when they meet, they had a hard time getting away, (don't you want this, you gotta see this!) realized a raja puri had put down the purple thing with bananas on them while they were here.
i didn't remember Pam makes soap, and she left a bunch for me with a sweet little doll, she'll have to tell you what she made it from.

isn't she wonderful?? I hope you left her some room for the brugs I'm rooting for her, but knowing you, you filled them up.

Glad you had a good time. Too bad it was just a couple days to early then there would be a bunch of us.

Arlene! Does that (weeds) mean you wanted to pull us out and throw us away? I hope not girl. It was fun meeting you and of course fun making off with your plants. Got home about 5 your time. After unloading and eating a sandwich, I worked til dark potting/planting and watering droopy plants (been gone 4 days, no rain). DH even watered without my asking him while I potted things. Anyone who hasn't been to Arlene's before and plans to go this weekend, don't worry, just keep driving, you'll find it at the end of the road (pigtrail). And the butterflies were beautiful! The zebras look like they are floating. Hope these two cats are a pair (they aren't asexual?) Got some cuttings/seedlings of some beauties. Can't wait til they grow up and bloom. Course every time I looked a different direction, there was something else I didn't know what it was. I've already forgotten the name of that last one by the corner of the house. Wish I could have gone to the party this weekend, but had to do it while I was that close. Thanks, Arlene. Hope you'll let us come again sometime, remember Tom promised you a mulberry tree.
Pam

tiG, is that me your rooting some for or did you have me confused with someone else? I have room for lots more. DH and I love these brugs.

well, I thought she was talking about 'weeds' (connie) and got the name wrong:) but I will have tons of cuttings in the fall if anyone still wants some by then, seems everyone else is getting rid of their cuttings first!!

Pam, i am sorry i mixed up your names, i thought i had gingerlily and weeds straight, guess now i will!!! i knew better, just CRC again, lol. anyway i got your real name right. it's a cuban buttercup. as far as i know the butterflies have sexes, i have seen several times the zebra long wing butterflies sitting on the cocoons waiting for them to open, they say the guys wait and try to be first to impregnate the girls and they can tell. the cocoons were on the oak tree near by. tig, don't you know kirk would have wished he were here, tom got out admiring the oak trees.

well, they are both fabulous gals!!!! and I wish you could get some good pictures of those oaks! so glad y'all had a good time, still can't believe i won't be there this weekend :(

Oh, it is a cornshuck doll. Been making them for fun for years, but sometimes when we go to a craft show with our white oak baskets, I will take the dolls and demonstrate. I demonstrate the lye soapmaking too.

That's okay tiG about the cuttings. Only if you happen to have some extras.

I think Arlene might be a little like me. Having some senior moments a little early in life, Arlene? I know we're both two young for that. Ha!

pam, I'll have plenty, trust me!
