Mystic do you cook this? I have it and tried a leaf raw but it didn`t taste like regular spinach to me. I never tried to cook it. It makes a pretty vine though.
Busybee, When I fixed it I just steamed it and it tasted pretty good but I tend to agree it has just sort of a spinach taste. I do use the leaves to put in salad to give it some color and in stir fry. I have a friend in GA that loves it because it doesn't bolt on her like spinach. I grow it more for the vine than for eating it.If you save the berries(seeds)be sure and wear gloves they will turn your hands purple getting the seeds out and stain anything its touches guess thats why they use it as a dye huh? lol
What seed? I plant the whole thing, I didn`t know that there was more than one seed in there.LOL I thought that was the seed.
Lol well there is a seed in the berry but I have done the same thing and let the berry dry and used the whole thing. lol Seems to work pretty good just have to make sure they dry real good before trying to store them.
