Is it a very large bloom? Almost a soft baby blanket pink?

I would not know Liz, but I sure wish I did from personal knowledge!!

Monika.....do you happen to know why a lot of us are having gobs of our brug buds falling off? Just had about 75% of my buds on current versicolor peach fall off...mostly all in one night. Previous flush was just fine.

Oh Owen, that is sad!

In the fall, when available daylight is less then twelve hours, night temperatures are lower and/or combined with early morning fog, many Brugmansias loose their buds. Especially the more sensitive species as versicolor or candidas. suaveolens too but not so much.

In our part, daylight is counted from sunrise to sunset. Hours with available light are less. In the tropic, they do have 12 hours light available. Sunrise and sunset goes much faster as in our part of the world.

You might have noticed this in Spring. 21. of March has equal 12 hrs day and 12 hrs night. So has 21. Sept. But Brugmansias do not start the real growth before Mid April.
By that time, we have true 12 hrs daylight, needed by the plants for healthy growth.

Thanks for that explanation Monika.....really appreciate it:)

Thanks, Monika, I suspected the cool night temps were the cause of all my buds on the ground in the mornings. Bummer! I have been waiting all summer for blooms!

Thanks Monika for the info.
