they sure look a lot alike! both are gorgeous.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hertzenbrucke looks a little darker around the rim, but both are just sooooo pretty.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Both are very pretty but if I could pick one . . it would be Hertzenbrucke and I don't even know if we can get it here in the good ole US.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

They are both beautiful but Hertzenbrucke would be my choice too with the darker edges.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

They look very close to me but what do I know? Don't have either.
One I thought looks like a newish bloom while the other looks a day or so later - if they are the same.

Hey barb, where did your black background go???

Barbara, Hertchenbrücke and Tropical Sunset have different calyxes and the veins on the tube, that supports the tendrils are more pronounced in Tropical Sunset. However, your Tropical Sunset has five angled calyx and that together with color and shape make it very similar to Morgensonne. Hertchenbrücke has common suaveolens leaves, but Morgensonne is a bit pubescent. If the leaves on Tropical Sunset also is a bit pubescent (velvety) I would say, that Tropical Sunset is identical to Morgensonne. We can`t be 100% sure, until they are crossed, but that is what I can see.

So Barb - are the leaves pubescent? Is it tag changing time again?? Tonny, can you send over some pollen?

I will go and check, what I have. *lol* any particular?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

not for me - for Barb, of the Hertzenbrucke - to see if it is the same plant.

*LOL*
