Good evening farmers. Where are you all today?
My farrier came today and put shoes on 3 horses, it takes about an hour per horse. Can Do, the 5 year old filly has her first set of shoes since she is going to the trainer in a few days. The endurance horses were due for their regular 8 week interval. This should last until the ride season is over.
This afternoon I went out riding in the hills on Breezy. Yesterday I had planned to go but the day just got away from me. Anyhow, there is this metal can laying out in the sagebrush, it's probably been there for 30 or 40 years, and I've always thought it would make a good planter, so today I picked it up and carried it on the horse to a spot where I can get it with the pickup. I don't know what was in it, it's about 15 inches in diameter and a little taller, and the lid was opened and folded back like Popeye's spinach can. I think it will be a good cactus planter. Things don't rust much here, the air is too dry most of the time, and with less than 10 inches of annual precipitation things just sit there forever. I know where there are other good things, I just have to go after them.
I hope you all had a great day. (Lisa is dodging love bugs). Count your blessings.
