Bad worm eating brugs

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

These things are everywhere, eating my brugs. These and a tiny green worm(not hornworm) are the ones responsible for my buds falling. I think it's some kind of owlet moth caterpillar(cutworm family) but haven't been able to identify it yet.

my scissors love them. I do a cat walk 2 or 3 times a day now :(
I've found a couple in cocoons, are they through eating?

Looks like it would turn into something beautiful with all its colors, but I sure would not it eating away at my brugs. I would have to do something about them.

I had some worms similar to this a few years back on evergreens..I sprayed them with Sunspray and rotonone..killed em quick..

Eclipse, weren't we supposed to quit using Rotenone? I just pick and toss. I don't know if that works to reduce the population, but it gets them off the brugs. Sometimes the little finches or song sparrows get them. They stay busy picking leaf rollers off the mums, but sometimes they come up to the brugs and clean them too.
