good going!!! can't wait to see these. are you going to start them indoors?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

naw, survival of the fittest. actually i plan on farming some out to people who have room. the bigger pod is a little older than the other, and that splotch on it isn't as bad as it looks. i posted somewhere about watching the hummer moths go from butterfly to pink beauty. i think they are a little over two months old now.
gonna plant some when i harvest.

i had volunteer seeds come up last february, and some survived two nights of hard frost. can't wait to see them bloom. 2 are right where they came up in the ground, fighting for nourishment or they may have bloomed. they are both a good 6 foot tall.

Pink Beauty & Butterfly are both Rothkirch babies aren't they?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

sounds like a dream cross!!

Sure does.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i checked back, 7/14 was pollination date. that hummer moth definitely went into those 2 pods that night. haven't had any more pods stay on this plant, there are a copule of small ones now that might stick.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Pink Beauty X Butterfly would that be half Rothkirch?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

it seems there could be a chance of getting an RK or ocre look a like but i am not sure and don't know the odds.

I'm about three weeks behind you, so will be good to hear when yours are ready. Of course, our weather might slow things down up here too. Since I've not done this myself before, I'll be anxious to get those first seeds.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Can't wait to see what you get out of this cross. Sounds like a winner.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'm behind Arlene too, I have a few pods on Pink Beauty and lots more buds. Mine is a tall plant, hope it fits in the Jungle House or I might just have to take a corner of the poinsettia house!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Way to go Arlene. Sounds like a great cross.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I was wondering if you were still watching. I have been caught, I feel terrible. Yes, there were 2 big boxes, loaded with wonderful stuff(and a pink brug sadly mislabeled).
I do think I found a very rare brug today for you. It's a lovely shade of pink.....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

and I could send this pretty now almost rooted pink I have back!!!!
um....arlene, I have some room left :) just in case you need it.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I wish someone from across the ocean would want to get even with be. I don't think they have Frosty Pink over there so they would have to send me a Rothkirch or Charleston or something.LOL
