Poor little Darcy had quite a scare this morning.

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

A few weeks ago we aquired a darling minature Beagle puppy from one of my bosses. This morning I decided to take Darcy back over to show her to my boss so Sarah could see how much she has grown and how attached she is to me and vise versa. All the way over there poor little Darcy whined, cried, barked, etc. and tried to get on my lap while I was driving. No amount of petting and cooing to her would console her broken little heart. I asked Sarah if she ever took Darcy anywhere in the car while she had and she said "no". That would explain why Darcy was so frightened. Car rides equate with new homes in her little puppy mind and she doesn't want a new home. Finally about half way home she realized that I hadn't left her there. She had been glad to see Sarah, but made it clear she wants to remain my baby. She kept looking up at me and crying as if to say " I don't know what I did that makes you want to get rid of me, but if you'll just tell me I promise to never ever do it again. Please let me stay with you and be your special little doggy." She was so happy to see she was home when we got here and I let her out of the van. And she was VERY good all afternoon!
