Buds falling off-Help!!!!!

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

My Frosty pink brug has (had) lots of buds getting about ready to open. Yesterday and today the buds started falling off. What have I done wrong? and What can I do to dave some? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Lou

Did you recently spray your Brugmansia with an insecticide? If not, perhaps you have insects of some sort. If you did, perhaps it was the chemical you used to treat the insects. Of course it could be a lack of water during the heat of the day. Keep at it though and you'll most assuredly have some blooms worth gawking at.

I started losing pods last week, found lots of little teeny worms/caterpillars.

I will look for bugs, but I haven't seen any and haven't sprayed . Thanks, Lou

some kind of cat is eating all the Whiskers blooms. I wanted to spray, but don't want to set everything back, I finally have a lot of blooms that are more than 1/4" big :)
I'll give them that one if they leave the others alone.

tig, something is eating my Whiskers as well. The poor thing looks pitiful. Everytime it gets blooms something eats it. I found real small worms on it today. They don't seem to be eating much else just Whiskers.

I am in Ohio. Temps at night down in 60's. Had a 4" pod on Kyle's Pink, just waiting to see it open, today, it was on the ground!! Dang!!

My problem is just the opposite now on Culebra. All the leaves are yellowing and falling and the buds are staying on. I think it must have been the spray I used on it for mites. It is a pretty disgusting looking specimen right now, and I hope the buds continue to stick. Would like to see just one bloom before frost. A month ago the foliage looked great and the buds fell off. No happy medium here.

Brugie,
Isn't that always the way things happen? One things for sure though...next year you'll have seedpods on your Culebra. Thats the important thing. The Culebra is one of my favorite specimens, but then I think its everyones favorite white in the states.

But Eric, it is so touchy for me. The mites just love it here. I think they are clover mites. Not the normal ones anyway. I have about 15-20 buds on it right now. Some are nearly 4-1/2 inches long. Should start doing something soon. I have to get it cleaned up of the mites so I can hold it over.

Post a picture of it Brugie. I wanna see those buds.

Will get out there for a picture after I finish up here. You won't like what you see. The buds look okay, it is the plant that looks sickly.
