I don't know, but it is a beautiful color. Deifinitely not white. I might have to give this one a shot when you cut it back. Will wait and see what color the bloom turns to. Sure is a beauty right now.

Congrats. Very pretty. Please post another picture today. The color is very rich looking. Sorry I don't know either.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I think it is called Kelley's! Where did you get it Ma Vie? Is it this dark? Post a picture showig the bottom please. Great one Ma Vie. what a way to start! how big is it?

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Mary gave me a cutting March '02, labeled as white brug. it is 11 inches long. that was the color when i took it at dawn this morning, flower was opened wide. when the sun was out it turned to almost salmon like color. can not take the width of the flower, it is drizzling outside now and the flower folded, and now goes back to the original color from this morning. it is like a chameleon i would say, it change color as the clouds moves around. last night when it first opened, it was white with pinkish edges and green lines along the throat.

LOL Kelley, i don't think u'd want ur name associated with this brug, as it can not seem to make up it's mind as to what color she/he wants to be. if it is a female, i'd say she must be a blond LOL! hehehehehehe!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Ma Vie, I thought you were going to say if it was associatd with me it would turn into a frosty pink.............

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

give me a break Kelley :)! i've got more respect for u than to think u're a blond LOL!!! will try to post the front view of the flower. the last one i took this morning.

How about White Rose?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Why white oblambet?

(Zone 6a)

cause I see white on the upper portion of the bloom, and the bottom part of the bloom reminds me of rose....plus it is Rose's brug.....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

just wondering............because I saw PINK PINK PINK ........ iridescent pink and we all know that I have a pepto garden! LOL

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kelley,

ur always thinking pink, it is NOT pink, it is Salmon color! that is how i took it, but do not know why the camera reflect that color. wish i knew how to put 2 photo together to show the difference in color. i've been trying to learn how to use Irfanview software to show the difference in color of the one i took this a.m. in comparison to how it looked now.

here's the thread of the face of this flower ... http://davesgarden.com/s/343645.html#new

Very pretty in the pic. Darn shame those expensive digital cameras don't show the true color! And to think I was planning on buying one next month! Think I will stick with my Voigtlander 35mm from Frankfurt when I was in the army way back when:)

Owen, the digital camera i have is a cheapo kind. probably the reason why it does not come true to the real color, but takes good shots. the only advantage i have is not spend money on films, and photo processing, so i can not complain. instanteneous gratification of being able to take a shot and not wait for the long processing time.

thanks for giving a lovely name, White Rose ... i do have a real white rose growing in the yard, named J.F. Kennedy.. a very lovely white rose and has a lovely fragrance too. but am more inclined to know the real name of this brug. it is bad enough that there are lots of mislabeled brugs, which cause total confusion. i wish not to contribute to those confusion.

(Zone 6a)

I used to have a Kennedy rose also.....finally got out of growing roses for two reasons: Most kept dying in the cold winters, and the ones that survived always had black rot, so they only had one good flush of blooms each year.

Oblambert.............. Owen if I may......... my digital does show true to color so do not let that hold you back! It is best thing since sliced bread! I just love mine, I truly do. I now take pics all the time, it is so easy, so convenient and so cheap! My husband bought it for me almost 3 years ago and then it was the smallest digital on the market. It fits in my shirt pocket, so easy to carry around. I am about to buy a bigger card so I can take 200 to 300 photos at one time without having to download them so when I am on the road I can click away. Just buy sev. batteries and you change them prn. They recharge very quickly. The other night I took it to sushi and not only can you take the photo but you can stop and see the photos you have already taken and see if they are what you want so you know on the spot if you need to take more. Everyone had to look at them. Also you do not have to look in the viewfinder anymore at all but can line your picture up by looking at the display window only and then click. So easy for older eyes to be able to hold the camera away from you instead of squinting in the viewfinder. And see so clearly the subject matter. It is truly a blessing! I will never use my other camera again! END of commercial!! but try it, you will love it!

(Zone 6a)

Kell.....thanks for the information. You make the digitals sound soooooo good:)

PS: I still see only pink in the pic....no salmon:) Maybe it is the lighting instead of the cam.

Being able to see the pic displayed in the camera should tell one if the pic is true to color....

Owen, that isn't necessarily so. My pictures look more true to color on the monitor than on the little camera screen. Also, outside light makes it a little hard to see them well sometimes. I'm like Kell though. I wouldn't have anything else. They are so quick and easy to use and if my computer doesn't crash, I'll move everything to the new one and put all my pictures on disc so I never lose them.

What am I talking about.......I'll lose the disc!!

I don't think I'll ever use a regular camera again.I love my digital. I'm still learning this new one as it has so many more things than my old one did.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Owen,

color on digital camera, i would not know if it varies from one digital to the other, when price is taken into consideration.

i like my digital cause i can always record the plant i have... if i didn't like what i shot the 1st time around, i can always change it. whereas regular camera, by the time the film is process, the plant is gone. digital when taking photo, u can always take pix at ur pleasure w/out doing any adjustment like a regular camera, specially for a novice like me.

the digital i have comes with a software with different functions. so far the only function i've used is resizing and quick fix.

try going to some store that sells digital camera, test for urself how they work. on line u can check with http://www.pcworld.com/ - that is where i learned the features of the Toshiba digital camera i have prior to buying it. here is another url to compare different brands .. http://www.ritzcamera.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/photoalley/home.d2w/report - learn more about each digital camera features and price comparison too. don't knack it till u try it LOL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Ma Vie, do you want me to walk you thru using infranview panorama function? it is so easy!!! much easier than the program that comes with the cameras! Brugie is the one that got me using it! phew......i just checked and this is your thread so we can talk about whatever we like.........LOL!!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Kelley, i spent practically the whole day learning irfranview today. too late to post it now, but i can send u what i did thru email if u wish. the software of Toshiba digital camera is super easy, the only problem is it does not have a collage function. hey! i do not have any problem, we can discuss anything and everything on threads i start.
Thanks Kelley :)!!!

btw... no more signs of caterpillar after 3 application of the spray. gee whiz, i can't seem to thank u enough... hehehehehe!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

3 applications already? I only use it from a hand spray bottle directly on the leaves that the are being eaten. Of course on my petunias I spray the whole plant. I usually only have to spray once for each infestation.

gee all day? I only use the panorama function and then I resize it when I want to put 2 pictures togeter on dave's.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

yes Kell, 3 applications cause my plants were heavily infested with cats. now i do not see a sign of them. most of the brugs on the ground are now able to retain the buds in various sizes. thanks. just sent u an email.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Owen, you were stationed in Frankfurt? Where and when? I was born in Frankfurt and grew up there.
