video card

I recently had a poblem with my video card. Gateway told me to reseat it and how to do it. It worked but now I can't get the appearance settings to stay at the setting that I put it on. I also get Dave's in two different modes. Sometimes it will have the forums lineD off in little boxes and then sometimes it will be all together and all over the screen. I have a warranty on the computer until sometime in Oct. so if the video card is going bad I want to solve the problem before then. Any one have any suggestions as to what might me the problem?
