How long will this flower last?????? Diana

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Could last 4-6 days. Hope it does. They are something to see and smell and I love it when they give me lots of their time. Hot weather was hard on them this year. I didn't get to see a lot of mine for more than 1-3 days.

This parachute-like flower does look LOVELY.
A pity, my only brugie seedling was destroyed by my neighbor's Mimi (cat)when she slipped into my garden to hide her shiit.):
Next year will have another try.

Jianhua, do you need more seeds??

Shangshui, Henan, China(Zone 7b)

tiG,thanks!
You are so kind.if my memory serves me right, the seeds were right from you.i'd like to have a try from the stems earlier next spring.the seeds i still keep a few.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll keep back some woody stems to send you in spring. They should make the trip better than anything else. when is your spring? or when could you start one inside to put out?

Diana, did it remain white? They are all pretty, but I was hoping it would turn that watermelon pink for you.

Diana, some people have had problems with tiny worms that eat the bud off. I have a plant that has had buds and they are gone the next morning. Strange things happen with them, so don't feel alone. Maybe someone else will have suggestions for you, but other than spraying, I don't know what to tell you.

Have a good one!!

S.

no buds at all....I can tell a tiny one now...and have not seen even a tiny one...on Jean Pesco...funny, I can tell a Y...and buds...and bugs...boy have I learned a lot from you guys....thanks so much..of course I will never be a speicalest..for sure......What a year...it has been great..and now flowers....I am happy.... Diana ;)

I believe someone said that this worm isn't visible during the day but if you don't have buds at all, give it a double dose of fertilizer and see if that will help. I do that every two weeks, especially before they start budding at all. I've even heard of people who fertilize with every watering. I'm too lazy for that.

tiG,the best plant-mailing time here is from late March and early April, according to experience. thanks advance!
W-gardener,hope to see your step by step recordings of the brugie flowers.what will it look like in the next picture?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Jianhua, will get a Yahoo reminder set to mail cuttings to you then:)
