Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Each is so welcome. I'll confess, I turn 60 today. Yesterday I felt a bit more like 45 but today I feel most of my age. No big plans for celebration tho. We ate the KFC buffet Monday evening on the way home from Independence so that is enough for me.
Lisa, you were so correct about our little Darcy. She is so full of energy and love. She just can't stand to stay sad for more than a minute or 2 when punished for something. Then she bounces back as full of joy as ever. So far she has killed at least 3 not yet flying pigeon squabs and injured a young banty pullet's eye. We never actually catch her in the act but she is the only suspect and we have found blood on her mouth. I suspect she starts out barking and jumping at them then chases them when they run. Finally they just can't run any more and die. Then she mauls them for a bit and leaves them. They aren't fun toys anymore. This morning I heard some commotion in the bird yard and she was barking and jumping at our banty rooster. So I spanked her hard and ran her out of the bird yard. I know she really doesn't mean to kill them so it's hard to be angry with her for long.
I spent the morning washing dishes and the stove. I need to mop the floor. Shad and Jack have mowed and weed eatered the area around the grape vine row so it shouldn't be too bad. We've tasted some of them and they are so sweet this year.
I need to go and rest awhile & hopefully let this headache fade into memory. I'm sure it's just from dehydration. I know I haven't been drinking enough water lately. I've been drinking as much as I can manage today. Some days I just don't seem to be able to get enough down. Some days I can get a lot of water down, other days a quart is all I can stomach. I've tried lemon juice in it, etc. to no avail. Such a silly way for my body to behave.
Wingnut, will I be sharing a birthday with the calf? I already have a granddaughter who shares it with me. Shad's younger sister was born on my 50th birthday so her age is easy to remember. Let us know when the baby gets here.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
