Mine aren't quite ready to pick yet either, Terry ~ just starting, that's the first fully mature pod. There's probably one serving of shelled and snaps that I could pick out there now, but I think I'll leave them for fresh seeds. I've neglected the garden this year (Kenny's and stepDad's hospital stays, but they're both fine now) and those peas are STILL gorgeous! They might have gotten watered every other week this past two months ~ we did have good rains up until the first week in July, then nothing, but they're still going great guns despite no rain. Are yours staying in place or growing like crazy?
I just uploaded a bunch more pics of the bloom and whole plant so you can see how big they are. I'm off to add a comment. BTW, can you believe these are all volunteers from last year?! They self-seed here in my zone 8b garden so these in the pics are all surprises.
