Hello farmers. It seems that we are back to summerish temperatures after our week of feeling too much like fall. There was even some snow up in the mountains above about 7500 ft. I am not ready for that, too much garden left to mature. We are getting a few ripe tomatoes but most of them are still green. I used up my last quart of home canned tomatoes so I need lots to can this year.
Today I was feeling rushed with so much to do before I leave on Friday for an endurance ride, was irrigating the garden and I looked to see what the mules were watching. The deer have arrived to eat the early windfall apples, the tree is 30 ft from my vegie garden, it is time to build the deer fence. Today!! They will be back tonight and when they get tired of apples my grapes and strawberries are waaaay too handy! So, as soon as this bowl of ice cream is gone I am off to town to buy a few things to make a fence.
I still have apricots to can today and had hoped to get out for a ride on Breezy but I think that is out of the question today. It was replaceed by the deer fence project. Oh, and company comming tonight maybe....... Life gets crazy sometimes.
Have a good evening everyone, count your blessings.
