Canna Russian Red ??

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

After looking at a bazillion photos I think this is probably Russian Red. It's about 8 feet tall. What do you canna growers think?

WOW, cannas are so pretty when the leaves are not just eaten all over by bugs. Folks around here just don't do cannas cause they get so raggedy looking. I guess it is just our humidity, cause I have sprayed and picked off the leaf thing that eats through the leaf, but still they look just awful. The only thing pretty is the bloom, which is always just beautiful.

I do have a couple eaten leaves on these but nothing that's too bad. What type of pest bother them? I thought my chewed leaves might be from earwigs but I wasn't sure.

I have LOTS of the Russian Reds and these look the same. My husband hates them because they get so big, but I like them because I think they are more tropical looking!

Grass hoppers, slugs, snails, cicadas, and leaf rollers all love to dine on Cannas.

Wow like this one

I have this one also. My cannas don't seem to be touched by bugs at all. I guess I'm lucky.
