EP x Rothkirch #3 + #4

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Two more hybrids out of the same cross. #3 opened one, #4 several flowers at once. Here you see no difference and the mother is probably a pure versicolor and the cross therefore are x candidas.

Jeanne, book us a flight - NOW!
Monika they all are amazing - I don't know how you're going to be able to choose.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I dont know myself!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Well then I guess you're going to have to release all 27 of them! LOL

I wanna be a bee again *whaaaa!*

This is outstanding. Seedling no. 3 was closer to EP, than to RK in shape. This one it the other way around. I have only seen RK in pictures of course, so I can be wrong, but I already think as it like the x candida with hanging RK flowers. :-)

Beautyful. I just want to be Monikas garbage collector!!

Hamilton, Canada

Temuco, Chile(Zone 9b)

WOW ! Just beautiful !!!!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Can you imagine looking out the window at not one ,not 2 but 27 of these babies? And then see all her established brugs?

I'm dying here,I'm all excited about my regular old brugs and there are magnificent brugs across the ocean like that, kinda humbles you.....

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Wow! They are beautiful. I just love the colors that you are getting.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, we have just got to get some of those beauties in the US. The color is just amazing. I remember the first year I had a brug and nearly killed it. The second year it bloomed and I thought it was the most beautiful flower I had ever seen. It wasn't even a named brug. Then I raised a few different ones and was happy with them. This year, Monika's brugs have just amazed me. All brugs are beautiful, but these are absolutely the greatest. I wonder what color that would be if I could buy it in spray paint? Would be the closest I'll ever get to having that color.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I could make a fortune selling stamps to the brug forum that says....... "Absolutely the best one Monika. I love it, I need it and I really really want it!!"

it would save us all from typing the same thing over and over again at each of your postings Monika!!! Oh I forgot........... too special also!!!

FSH, TX

If these are going in the trash could I have the pollen from them before they go?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The flowers are already dry. I dont have a digi camera just an old fashioned Olympus or Canon Eos 300. The labs develop the pictures for me. I always wait until the film is full.

A complete film is lost as something is wrong with the Olympus. I noticed it already on the last pictures. Tomorrow I have to repeat photographing many flowers with the Canon Eos. I need the new pictures for my homepage. It will be updated in the fall.

FSH, TX

Why does this not surprise me. Always a day late.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Monika, if you need a new camera, go digital. It is so easy (no laughing from the brug gallery). And so cheap! No film, no procesing fees. You can alter the background, resize, cut off unwanted parts and even recolor your pics all at a touch of the finger. The other types of cameras are going the way of the typewriter! Esp. with your work, you can instantly see if your picture did not turn out the way you wanted and go out and redo it in minutes instead of having to wait to get it developed and then your flower is past its prime. You can store them on discs ansd bring them up at a click to compare to others. You can pick the ones you want a hard copy of. It is the only way to go!!!
Ask my husband, I walk around the house daily exclaiming over the benefits of my digital camera! And by the way, I have such a deal for you on one...............

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

You are right, kell BUT the publishing houses do not accept Digi fotos. They are not good enough for printing. And I need color slides too for my lectures. And I HATE when retailers pep up the colors of the pictures for a better presentation /and of couse, Sale).

Hamilton, Canada

Monika I'm just learning how to use my Canon. I messed up my first 2 rolls, but that's how one learns ...by trial and error.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Monika . . very beautiful.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Monika, that is what Liz told me! She implied I was in a different picture taking class then you were.......... LOL! She said your pictures in your book could never have been made on digital! I may have to buy it before the English version comes out.............. the pictures sound so divine!!

you should still get one for fun picture taking!!! Like posting on here for all of us!!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

How much they look alike you will see on this picture. I placed two hybrids together for this picture. Their names are B. x candida Gartenzauber and B. x candida Inkarose.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

yes they do but they are still so beautiful and they look huge!

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

OK, enough of this. I've got to have one of these reds. Either we will have to go to Germany and sneak some back or pack Monica, her DH and her brugs and bring them to the US. Maybe the last would be better as her brugs would have to stay in quarantine for 2 yrs and I know she would not leave them. That way we could have both. What do you all think?

(Zone 6a)

Monika, I think you could make a fortune selling Rothkirch pollen to us over here:) We have EP....just need the magical pollen to put on her:)

FSH, TX

I don't think any but a very select few will ever see Rothkirch in the states. Native Habitat has had her for a few years now it seems though...so perhaps one day if we wish hard enough someone will get one from them. I think one or two other nurseries have had Rothkirch as well though in the states, so.....
