Since I need to dig all those suckers up,and don't want to loose any buds, should I go around them now, kinda root pruning them to give the oportunity to form new roots closer to the trunk?
In other words, take a shovel and dig around the plant, severing all the long roots, making the rootball the aproximate size to go in a pot.But leave it in the ground for a few weeks so it can recover some of its roots. Then dig it totally and put it in a pot(I read somewhere thats the best way to transplant trees)
Or is it better to just dig it up and pot it right away?
another root pruning question
Good question to ask. I only have one planted in the ground so I'll have to get my brother to come over and dig it up for me.
CC... I think that it wouldn't hurt it would keep the rootball small and eassy to remove but I would n't think that it would hurt not too brugs root so easy from a cutting that if it had a few roots to help it out it would be just fine
CC, my dime, i think you'll have to cut it again, they can grow a lot in a few weeks. don't know if cutting the roots a lot would affect blooms. once you get a good root ball, your name has to start with a B to kill it!!
(just kidding ms brugie).
Jeanne, i slept all day!!! i should feel better now. yes, i am definitely feeling better. get the stitches out tomorrow. i do look like a professional boxer, lol.
OK thanks guys,Guess I'll just start digging and potting....
Arlene.......I think it might be a gonner. Can't believe it would do that, but maybe just too much stress. Mites, treatments, and digging. Bet that brug had just about had it with me messing with it. I'll still give it a couple more days and then I'm going to start whacking at it for cuttings. I'm sure cuttings will still thrive.
Which brug is this Brugie?
