southeast, NE

Good afternoon! Where is everyone? I decided it's time to take break.

It rained again this a.m. I've been noticing the county trucks driving past most of the day hauling some badly needed gravel for the roads.

Patty - I feel for your dd but I bet she will still have fun. It is neat that she is able to go with her friends. She sounds like a beautiful person inside and out. My dd has had the same boyfriend for the past 3 years and they are already talking about getting married. He's a great guy, very hard working and spoils dd. I just wish she wouldn't be in such a hurry to marry - would like to see her "find herself" after college. Oh well - can't run their lives for them. I bet when she goes to college, your dd will find somebody that has the same interests as her. Although, dd's boyfriend is a city boy. He tries (leads her calves at the fair, cleans poop, etc.) but still doesn't have the look and squirms at the thought of helping to pull a calf.

KathyJo - forgot to mention yesterday that you should give your dh a big pat on the back for that weight loss. I know very well how hard it is to lose weight. (My so called diet lasted about 2 days.)

We have used donkeys in the past for breaking calves. I'm afraid this heifer may already be getting too big as she weighs 1000 lbs. She started getting snotty the last month. We couldn't even move her this a.m. We may have to see if we can borrow somebody's donkey.

Well you all better take care!
