Barbara, Rosa Traum

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The picture is 17 years old. It shows a color, seldom seen on Rosa Traum during a mild but very humid summer.
But you can recoignize the shape of the flower. Take a look at the calyx and the corolla tube and notice the difference between this one and your Rosa Traum. My plant originates from the Herklotz - collection at Hannover-Herrenhausen.
Rosa Traum is a very valuable crossing partner. It has versi and the color yellow in its genotype.

Oh my goodness Monika this is just gorgeous. Its color is very vibrant.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It is joydie, and my camera is always ready for the documentations of such rarities.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If only, mine will look like this one. How could I not be happy? Just beautiful intense color. Maybe you could ship me a few tons of that volcanic soil your brugs are grown in. :-)

Monika,
Its such a delight to have you here at Dave's posting these wonderful pictures. Its like going for a walk in a national botanical garden with some many lovely things that you grow.

Sure hope mine turns out that colour, guess I need to get some buds on it first though.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Its like I said in the beginning of the thread; its a color, seldom seen. It needs perfect weather conditions to suit her.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Mine came from LBJardenier, doubt if it would be that beautiful??? Here's hoping!!

If it came from LBJ then it will probably look like Barbara's which Monika says is Adora.

(Zone 6a)

That is absolutely beautiful, Monika

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I am guessing it is Adora. It looks like it and I know, that Dr. Preissel asked Mme Blin for cuttings to send to California.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Hibiscus, is that where you got yours?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Yes, from Vickie. LBJ

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm going to change my tag, thanks!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Sorry to everyone that I sent rooted plants. We never even saw an Adora to choose from, here in USA.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

don't be sorry!!! if it's Adora, it's beautiful and it's certainly not your fault!!! I love mine, whatever it is

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Bless you tiG, you are an Angel!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

hon, if anyone blames you, you let me know and I'll get them for you!!! It's kindof like starting all over with new info, isnt' it?? makes the game interesting if nothing else!!

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Hmmmm....tag changing time again. They are both beautiful.
Does anyone in the States have the real thing?I don't know about the rest of you but I really don't care what the flower is as long as I can get the right name on it.I havn't seen a brug yet that I didn't like.....well maybe Shredded White and Janet Reno.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

JT, finally!! Someone else who doesn't care for Shredded White. Don't have Janet, so can't comment on that one. I'm like tiG. Feel like I have a whole new brug and Gloria, don't you worry a bit about sending out Adora. I love have the fun of raising a brug that is two for the price of one. :-) Now we can go on a hunt for RosaTraum.

(Zone 6a)

Would love to see a pic of bloom on your Adora, Tig:) I am looking for a Rosa Traum .... don't remember what Adora looks like. Sure wish LBJ and everyone would get their brug names correct.....never know what one is getting when we order:)

Owen

I am talking about the suppliers....not you, Gloria:)

Thanks Monika for taking the time to post the picture. Definitely different from the one I posted. Love the intense color.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

owen, mine isn't that big yet, but going by what Barbara got from LBJ (look for picture last two days) and mine came from the same source, through different person, I'm assuming mine will be Adora. Would be cool if a real RT snuck through though!

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Monika,
I the color really that intense. It is wonderful. Thanks again.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Barbara, the color is that intensive ONLY by ideal weather conditions. These are not often where I live.

FSH, TX

As always...In awe.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Rosa Traum has one big fault: the corolla edge likes to dry early, Adoras is thicker.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

stunning......what a vibrant color. hat are the ideal weather conditions to get this color?

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Monika, can you tell us where we migh obtain this one???

"eyes"

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Eyes,you get it in Europe

Monika ,do you have a picture of the color it usually blooms?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

I would say I would come find ya if you got lost, but I know you would much prefer to stay lost. :o)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I bumped one Shelly,it was not the one I was looking for,but had great info,I was looking for the one where she is up on a ladder collecting pollen,or maybe spreading it,it is a close picture to the Alley she just put up,but in full bloom.
(I'll come find you,if you get lost in there!)LOL!!!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, did you two stay up all night? LOL I finally went to bed a little after 3:30. What a way to spend nights, looking thru Monika's posts and pictures.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOL Ada, I think I lost Rooty somewhere, but I havent heard his SOS, so Im not too worried yet. Theres so much info to learn from Monika. Its just awsome, the way she plans in depth about her crosses... why she would do one cross instead of another, pictures of what a diseased plant looks like, just everything!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

It is beautiful. Where can I find a pic of Adora?

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Here ya go WS. http://plantsdatabase.com/go/3042/index.html
