Does anyone know which one this is? Don't look at the calyx - I had to open it by hand.

Wow!! I like it, but don't know which one it is. This is one for Monika, Tonny or Eric.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Liz, it looks a lot like Pink Beauty. I can send you a picture of mine to use to compare, if you want.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

WOW! Whatever it is it sure is a beauty.

Wow!!! Is it Butterfly or another from the R crosses? If Monika would wake up or fall out of her bed by sheer accident and stumble to her computer I would almost guarantee a quick answer. I know only the few I got, but Monika knows everything about EU-Brugs.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Oh my, is that a beauty!

Well, I finally fell out of my bed. It was the first good night sleep for a long time.

Liz, by the shape of the flower, its long tendrils, it looks much like Rosalie.
Description: middle sized dark green leaves, glossy with almost no edges. Narrow corolla tube, very long tendrils. Color changes from pink to dark - deep rose, depending on weather.

It is not so easy to identify a species by its first flower. The others could have a different look.
Liz, could you post a picture of the leaves?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

No, I didnt, snow. Peter woke me up, he was mouwing at the bedroom door. When I looked at the clock and noticed how late, the shock knocked me over. But who cares, it was a good night sleep and SUNDAY !!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Liz. . this is really beautiful and I also noticed the wonderful background and for an instance imagined myself there. The beauty that surrounds you has to be uplifting each and every day.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You guys are so right.......I had not appreciated the background as much as I should have. It is fantastic! in fact this picture should be on a card! just lovely!!

you know Cala you are right about starting your day on the right note. I had heard on TV that what you say to your spouse in the 1st five awake minutes of the day determine your relationship with your spouse for that day. If you wake up and say Good Morning Honey. I love you so much. You will have a fantastic day as far as the 2 of you are concerned. If you wake up and just grunt at him, you are in for a not so sweet day. And if you wake up and bop him in the head for what he did in your dreams, just forget the day.

It is true, I have tried all 3!! I now go out of my way to say or do something that is very loving first thing. And he rewards me all day with kindness back. It follows, that the same will be true in all your relationships. If you wake up and start your day on a fun, upbeat friendly frame of mind............your day should be loving back!!

and to tie this into the brug forum........ the first 5 minutes of each day that I see my brugs I alway say something so sweet and so nice, and you would not beleive the results!!! no More Frosties.........they are all double pinks now!!!

Sorry, I posted yesterday and then was out for the evening. This was one of 2 cuttings I received from a very generous person here at daves. Both were marked as HG. Imagine my surprise when it came out single and pink. It's a beautiful bloom - nice thick corolla walls. This is one of a couple of mited plants I have so they are isolated from the others. I had to open the cayx by hand because it had hardened somewhat. When I opened it, water dripped out. I'd love to post pictures of the leaves Monika but there are none of the originals left - I removed them. After spraying the leaves are coming back but aren't at normal size and shape yet. Rosalie?? Cool!!
Brugnanny - that background is my wild hill. I have a 60 degree slope - once a year I crawl up and remove the worst weeds then it's on it's own.

OMG...I'm a super grouch when I wake up...no one talks to me for at least 10 then I'm ok. Does this mean I'm grouchy all day?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

no, it means you are missing out on super sweetness from all those that you come into contact with in the first 5 minutes............

Hamilton, Canada

Liz ...that's a nice little surprise if its Rosalie!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Well, I'm not in contact with anyone the first 5 minutes of my day. Jim has already gone to town and the dog is asleep. I usually come to the computer first, but don't do much except read. Guess we better extend that time frame for me. :-) or would it be :-(

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Liz, Rosalie has a very thick corolla wall. Should I send you pollen for a cross pollination? This way, you will be sure.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Thank you Monika, that's very kind of you. I'll email you separately.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, Liz...I'm guessing that's your garden in the background? I've gotta move out of the freaking dessert one day!!
